Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is Books on My Summer 2026 to-Read List.
Before getting started with my summer TBR, I took a look back at my spring TBR post… and discovered that I did pretty well! Of my 10 winter TBR books, I actually read eight and DNFd one. I still intend to read the one remaining book, which is the first in a series I’ve been planning to start this year:
So, I’ll leave Just One Damned Thing After Another here as a reference… and meanwhile, I’m picking another ten books for my summer reading TBR! Of course, narrowing it down to just ten is practically impossible, but here’s the batch of books I’m putting high on my priority list right now:

- The Midnight Train by Matt Haig
- To the Moon and Back by Eliana Ramage
- My Imaginary Mary by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, Jodi Meadows
- Paladin’s Grace by T. Kingfisher
- This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me by Ilona Andrews
- The Calamity Club by Kathryn Stockett
- We Solve Murders by Richard Osman
- The Fox and the Devil by Kiersten White
- Theo of Golden by Allen Levi
- I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman
What are you planning to read this summer? Please share your TTT links!

I wonder if we’ll ever get a film version of The Calamity Club?
Given what a big bestseller it is already, I wouldn’t be surprised!
Hope you enjoy Midnight Train, it’s wonderful
I’m excited to read it! I went to a book talk with Matt Haig earlier in the month — he’s so interesting!
I bet that was really interesting. I love how open he is
I’d never heard him speak before — so open and willing to be vulnerable, especially in response to audience questions.
I started Calamity Club this week. Happy summer reading!
I’m excited to start it! I’m saving it for while I’m traveling next month 🙂
I keep hearing about The Midnight Train! I hope you love it 🙂
Thank you! I’m excited to start it — I’ve enjoyed so many of his books!
Enjoy your reads!
Thank you!
I need to read a lot of these too!
I hope we both enjoy whatever we end up with this summer!
I’m hoping to read The Midnight Train, and I enjoyed reading We Solve Murders.
Here’s my TTT for this week: https://readbakecreate.com/summer-2026-tbr-ten-books-i-hope-to-read/
I’m excited to read both! Thanks for sharing your link!
The Kingdom will not Kill Me looks like a good book. Great list. Here is my TTT. https://dmhoisington.wordpress.com/2026/06/23/top-ten-tuesday-34-books-on-my-summer-2026-to-read-list/comment-page-1/#comment-1718
That’s one I’ve really been looking forward to! Thanks for sharing your link 🙂
Well done for getting to most of your spring TBR. Ive been curious about the Jodi Taylor series for a while too and look forward to hearing what you think of it.
I loved The Fox And The Devil and have heard so many good things about I Who Have Never Known Men. This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me is on my summer, or 2026 at least, TBR too depending on library queues/special editions. Its so beloved that I’m either getting the Waterstones edition if they restock or borrowing it for now to treat myself in the future if more are made elsewhere.
Hope you have a lovely summer. It looks like you have some great reads lined up.
Thank you! Wishing you a great summer too! I’ve heard such great things about The Fox & the Devil, and really loved the previous book I’d read by this author. Can’t wait to start This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me — I need to see if my library hold is finally available 🙂
I also want to try to get to Paladin’s Grace this summer!
And of course I’m cheerleading for Just One Damned Thing After Another! 😀
Thanks! Just One Damned Thing is one I’ve been wanting to try for quite a while now, and after reading Swordheart, I’m really interested in getting to the Paladin series.
I really need to read This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me as well. And I hope you love The Calamity Club!
Both of these are going to be coming on vacation with me next month!
This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me is on my TBR too! It’s not on my list for this season though haha, I’ve got a bunch of other books I want to get to first. Here’s my TTT 🙂
I hope I’ll get to it this summer… but there are so many other books too! So hard to keep up!
WE SOLVE MURDERS was one of my favorite reads of last year. It’s so fun! I was really excited about THE CALAMITY CLUB, but I ended up DNFing it about 1/3 of the way through because it’s SO slow. I love the Lady Jane/Mary series. The books are absolutely delightful (especially on audio). I hope you enjoy all these.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

Thanks so much! What a bummer to hear that The Calamity Club was a DNF for you — I’ve seen a few reviews that loved it, so I’m hoping I will too. I do love the Lady Jane and Mary books — and I agree, the audiobooks are fantastic!
Such a great line-up! I loved We Solve Murders, and of course you already know how I feel about the St. Mary’s books. 😉 I hope you will enjoy them all!
Thank you! I loved the Thursday Murder Club books, so I have a very good feeling about We Solve Murders!
Great job on your spring TBR! I’m scared to look back at mine.
I understand the feeling! I did well this spring, but previous seasons… not so much!
Looks like you have some excellent reading ahead. I hope you enjoy them all 🙂
Thanks so much!
There’s a few on that list that I’ve enjoyed. Have a great summer of reading!

Thanks, same to you!
Would love to see what you think of Just One Damned Thing After Another if you read it. I also have it on my physical TBR.
I’ve been wanting to get to that series for years now, and I just need to finally make it happen!
I just read Paladin’s Grace a few weeks ago and finished book two this past week. It’s so good! I also enjoyed We Solve Murders, but still love Thursday Murder Club a bit more. I hope you enjoy all of these!
Thanks! I’m excited to start Paladin’s Grace and We Solve Murders!
Enjoy your summer reading. I’ve read and enjoyed three of these – Ilona Andrews, T Kingfisher and Kathryn Stockett. I hope you love them and look forward to reading your thoughts.
Lynn 😀
I’m just starting The Calamity Club today! I have high hopes already 🙂
It was definitely a book to savour. 😊
