About

Who, me? Just another book fanatic, currently curled up in my book nook in San Francisco.

My name is Lisa, and I’ve been a reader all my life. I started Bookshelf Fantasies to share the joy of great books with other book lovers, and to connect with other people who love to talk about what they read.

I focus mainly on fiction, with random memoirs and occasional non-fiction books in the mix as well. My favorite genres include science fiction, fantasy, love stories/romance, historical fiction, family sagas, contemporary fiction… but really, I’ll read anything that catches my eye. I love quirky, snarky, clever, funny writing, but dramatic and serious work for me too, depending on my mood.

Here at Bookshelf Fantasies, I post book reviews, participate in book blog memes, share updates, and sometimes write about TV/streaming, travel, or other topics too. I’m always eager to connect with other book lovers — please share comments, suggestions, and recommendations!

Happy reading!

    • Hi Kerri — Sorry it’s taken me so long to follow up! I really appreciate the nomination, but I just don’t seem to have the time to participate. But thank you!

  3. Hi!

  15. Hey.
It took me quite 20 something years to realize my love for literature and books.
But it’s better to be late than to have never realized it. :p
This month itself, I have set goals for reading. 🙂
And I finished ‘A thousand splendid suns’ by Khaled yesterday. Would love to know your review on it, if you have read it. 🙂

  20. Hi!
Longtime follower here 🙂 I have a question I hope you can answer. I want to host a giveaway and the prize is a physical copy of a book, but I feel bad about asking people their home address. Have you ever given away a physical copy before? Can you ask people for their home address?

    Thank you!

    • Hi – Yes, I’ve done this! I think, first, it’s important to state in the giveaway description whether there are any limits (such as US only, open internationally, etc). You can run the giveaway, and wait until you have a winner selected to reach out and ask for mailing addresses. That way, you’re only asking for the info for the people who are actually winning the prize, and not otherwise collecting personal info. I hope this helps!
