Top Ten Tuesday: The Ten Most Recent Additions to My Kindle Library

snowy10

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is The Ten Most Recent Additions to My Book Collection.

I’ve bought a few hardcover editions of favorite books over the last several weeks, but since those are all books that I’ve already read (and in some cases, already have in my e-library), I thought I’d focus on my greatest buying temptation: Kindle books. I can’t resist a good Kindle price break, even though the result is having more e-books than I have time to read. It’s not the worst problem to have!

Here are the ten Kindle books I’ve added most recently:

  1. Burn by Peter Heller
  2. Miss Benson’s Beetle by Rachel Joyce
  3. The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin
  4. One Perfect Couple by Ruth Ware
  5. Ready or Not by Cara Bastone
  6. Says Who? by Anne Curzan
  7. The Berry Pickers by Amanda Peters
  8. The Glory by Herman Wouk
  9. The Secret Book of Flora Lea by Patti Callahan Henry
  10. There’s Something About Mira by Sonali Dev

Have you read any of my recent additions? What books have you bought most recently?

If you wrote a TTT post, please share your link!

  1. I went for the last print purchases I got for my list but I truly relate to the Kindle purchase temptation. The prices drop so dramatically at times and I always check out their monthly offers 😂 I haven’t heard of The Left Hand Of Darkness but I’ll definitely be looking that up. And I’ve only read one Ruth Ware book so far and majorly need to try more sometime. I hope you enjoy all of these whenever you get to them.

    • Thanks so much! I’m feeling a little cautious about trying the Ruth Ware book — the synopses of her books always sound so good, but the one I’ve read so far really didn’t work for me in a lot of ways. Still, I’m willing to keep trying!

      • Which one of her books did you read? It’s been years since I read The Woman In Cabin 10 so I can’t remember it well tbh but I think I liked but didn’t love it 🤔 I can’t remember for definite but I can’t remember being wowed by it. Hopefully this one will work for you 🤞

  2. I hope you love these! I haven’t bought any books just yet, but I’m going on my first shopping trip since having the baby this weekend and I can’t wait lol. It’s been three months since I’ve been in a bookstore.

  3. Oh I fully subscribe to the “kindle books don’t count” line of thinking, at least in terms of my TBR, lol. I don’t even have an e-reader, but I still take advantage of deals because I figure I will someday, and meanwhile, those are my Emergency Books.

I found Burn very compelling. Hoping to read Ready or Not this year; I have a weird hangup where I can’t decide whether to choose that one or Out on a Limb first. I think I’ll like both, but there’s a chance I won’t, and I’m afraid of “ruining” the 2nd-position one if I end up not loving the one I read first.

    • Thanks! My book group will be reading The Berry Pickers in the fall, so unless I’m a total slacker, that’s one I’m pretty confident I’ll get to. I do want to read Burn — I’ve only read one Peter Heller book (The Dog Stars), but it was excellent, and I’ve been wanting to read several of his other books.

  4. Kindle book deals are IMPOSSIBLE to resist for me as well, even though I already have hundreds of unread books in my e-library. The struggle is real!

I’ve read ONE PERFECT COUPLE. It’s probably my least favorite of Ware’s books because the characters are mostly unlikable and the storytelling just felt kind of blah and rushed. I still whipped through it, though, because it was definitely compelling. I hope you enjoy it and all these others.

    Happy TTT (on a Thursday)!

    Susan
