Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week is a Freebie week, so we all come up with our own topics. I was drawing a complete blank, so I decided to enlist my daughter once again! Not only is she an amazing human being — she’s also an amazing reader, so seeing her top 10 lists is always a treat.
She originally sent me a list of 20, but put in a valiant effort and narrowed it down to 10. Here are the books she’s loved recently:

- Even Though I Knew the End by C. L. Polk
- Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree
- The Deep by Rivers Solomon
- Record of a Spaceborn Few by Becky Chambers
- Honey & Spice by Bolu Babalola
- Love Radio by Eboney LaDelle
- Legendborn by Tracy Deonn
- The Street by Ann Petry
- The Secret Lives of Church Ladies by Deesha Philyaw
- Thank You For Listening by Julia Whelan
Have you read any of these? If so, what did you think? (I’ve read 3 out of 10, have one all queued up to read this summer, and have my eye on at least two more of these!)
If you did a TTT post this week, please share your link!
The Deep was amazing. I keep hoping we get a film made about it.
Here is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
Ooh, has there been discussion of a film for The Deep? I would absolutely line up to see that.
I haven’t read any of these. But what a fun look at some of the books your daughter ended up loving. 😀
She’s definitely given me inspiration!
Wow your daughter and I have very similar reading taste! So many of my favourites are on her list. Now I want to see the other 10!
Awesome! 🙂 Maybe I’ll share her other 10 in another post…
Thank you for listening is still on my TBR.

It’s so good (and particularly fun to listen to the audiobook)
Your daughter has amazing taste!
She does!! She’s my #1 book buddy. 🙂
I loved Legends and Lattes, and also really liked Record of a Spaceborn Few. I’m interested in reading quite a few of these (The Deep especially). I love the idea of this list, I should have my husband do one of these.
I really liked Record too (the whole series). I’m planning to read Legends & Lattes this summer – I’ve heard such great things!
So fun that your daughter helped out😁 I’m glad to see Legends and Lattes, it’s reminding me I need to read it.
Me too! I’ve had a copy of Legends & Lattes for a while now, and just need time to get to it!
I’ve listened to books narrated by Whelan, but I’ve never read one she’s written. I’ll have to check that one out.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

She’s such a great narrator (which makes the audiobook of Thank You for Listening especially fun.)
I adored Whelan’s book, so happy to see your daughter loved it. I need to have my daughter make a list for me!
Here’s my TTT post.
I loved Whelan’s book too! My daughter and I have overlapping tastes, so I always love to see what her favorites are. 🙂
Legendborn has been on my TBR for a while now and I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. I love that you included your daughter in the post 🙂

Thanks! She and I are super compatible when it comes to books, and I love to see what she’s read lately.
What a fun idea to share your daughter’s favourites! I’ve not read any of these but I’m kind of curious about Legends and Lattes after seeing so much praise for it.

My daughter has terrific taste in books! 🙂 So many people have recommended Legends & Lattes to me, and I have a copy — looking forward to reading it!
Well I hope you enjoy it!
The Secret Lives of Church Ladies is one I really want to read. I’m glad your daughter liked it!
She’s mentioned it to me a few times by now, and I do want to read it too!
I’ve only read “The Secret Lives of Church Ladies,” which was good, and “The Deep,” which I didn’t like as much as I thought I would.
The Deep is one of the ones I’ve read too (I liked it), and I definitely want to read Church Ladies!
