Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is about reading plans for this winter. What’s on my to-be-read list? Ha, what isn’t? Not that I ever end up sticking to a plan — but as of now, here are the top 10 books I’m looking forward to reading during the next few months.
1) Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson.
It’s about time that I finally read this, right?
2) Noggin by John Corey Whaley
3) The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd
4) The Light in the Ruins by Chris Bohjalian
5) The Hundred Year House by Rebecca Makkai
6) Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel
7) The Last Letter From Your Lover by Jojo Moyes
8) Washington’s Secret Six by Brian Kilmeade and Don Yaeger (because it’s about time that I venture outside my little world of fiction and read some history, yo)
9) Saga by Brian K. Vaughan (need to re-read volumes 1 & 2, then go on to read volumes 3 & 4)
10) The Boy Who Drew Monsters by Keith Donohue

I just downloaded Station Eleven! I have heard great things about it. I hope I can get to it soon.
I’ve heard great things too! I’m scheduled for a discussion post with another blogger about this book for January, so I’ll need to stay on track — but I’m looking forward to it!
I’ve not heard of most of these- have to look them up!
That’s how I end up with so many books on my to-read shelf on Goodreads – looking up everyone’s else’s TTT books. 🙂
I really enjoyed The Light in the Ruins and am looking forward to reading Station Eleven — hopefully soon!
I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed by a Chris Bohjalian book — but I’m so glad to hear that so many people really enjoyed The Light in the Ruins! I’m reading it with a book group in February, but even without the group, I want to read it anyway. 🙂
Yeeeeeeesssss to Mistborn 😉
Been wanting to read Station Eleven, The Hundred Year House, and The Light in the Ruins, hopefully I’ll pick them up one of these days xD And I definitely will have to catch up with Saga at some point too, hehe xD
Oh, I know, I’ve been so delinquent about Mistborn. I swear, I’m really going to make it happen! I’m really excited about all of these books… now I just need to stick to a plan for once. 🙂
I have been eyeing that Sue Monk Kidd book, too. Great list. Here’s mine.
I’ve been wanting to read it for a while, and it looks like my book group will be discussing it this winter, so maybe I’ll finally get around to it. 🙂 Thanks!
Mistborn was on my list for today too!
We should pick a date to both start it! 🙂
Noggin has such an interesting premise. I definitely want to read that, but I need to be in the right frame of mind beforehand.
It looks really interesting… and I still have his previous book on my shelf to read too.
I’ve just started Station Eleven. The concept sounds really great!
Doesn’t it? I’m really excited to read it. 🙂
I need to get caught up with Saga too. And you are not alone, I haven’t read Mistborn yet either. Some day! Have fun with your winter reads! ~Megan
Thanks, Megan! I loved the first two volumes of Saga, so I’m looking forward to enjoying the series all over again during the holidays. 🙂
Your books look intriguing! I hope that you enjoy them all. I really want to try Noggin!
Thanks, Chrissi! I hope to get to Noggin soon…
I’m really curious about The Boy Who Drew Monsters and I now reading what it’s about on Goodreads, I must read it too.
I’ve read one book by this author (The Stolen Child) and it was amazing. Can’t wait!
I’m not sure if my heart is ready for another epic trilogy read in Mistborn but I hope you enjoy it as everyone seems to rave about it!
Cheers,
joey via. thoughts and afterthoughts
I know what you mean — do I need one more series to get involved with? But I keep hearing such raves about Mistborn that I feel like I need to at least give it a try!
