Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is Top Ten Book Covers I’d Frame As Pieces of Art. I’ve done other top 10 lists with favorite covers (and even one with scary covers) — so I’ll try to come up with 10 “work of art” book covers without repeating myself… too much.
1) The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker
2) Mokoka’i by Alan Brennert
3) Impossible by Nancy Werlin
4) The Dovekeepers by Alice Hoffman
5) Sacré Bleu by Christopher Moore
6) Meet Me in the Moon Room by Ray Vukcevich
(I haven’t read the book, but I do love the cover!)
7) The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien (original edition with Tolkien’s cover art)
8) Any of the new series of covers for Susanna Kearsley books, especially:
9) The covers from any of the Fables series volumes, especially:
10) The Brides of Rollrock Island by Margo Lanagan
(Two different covers, and I like them both!)
If you want to see one of my earlier posts about favorite covers, check it out here. (Only 2 repeats! Not bad…)

Oh wow, I love those Susanna Kersley book covers! And that version of the Hobbit is always one I’ve thought had lovely artwork!
Thanks! The Susanna Kearsley books are really beautiful (and there are a few more that go with this set) –plus the books themselves are really good. Thanks for stopping by!
I’ll have to look into them then!
Anything from Tolkien’s world is pretty much a win in my book. I’d stare at said art pieces while enjoying elevenses. Relaxation therapy at it’s finest.
Cheers,
joey via. thoughts and afterthoughts
Or if you start early enough, you could enjoy the books while eating second breakfast. 🙂
I have The Hobbit on my list too! But I put a different edition because I actually HAVE a poster of it which I had framed on my wall for a long time. : )
Check out my list at Emerald City Book Review
I was really torn between this Hobbit version and some of the other really pretty Tolkien editions that I’ve seen. Really, any will do!
That version of the Hobbit is gorgeous! Great choices
Thanks! There are so many great versions of The Hobbit and LOTR, but I’ve always especially loved this one. 🙂
You’ve got some very different covers in your list! 🙂 so beautiful and very appealing.
Thanks so much! This is a really fun topic — who doesn’t love looking at pretty book covers?
I love your number 5 and number 9! So stunning.
Thanks! Even better, the books are really good — not just pretty covers!
I have that version of the Hobbit and sometimes I like to just take it out and stare at it 😛 Great choices!
LOL. I’ve been known to stare at some of my prettier books too…
Wow… A lot of these are new to me, and they’re GORGEOUS!! Great picks! 🙂
Thanks! It was a really fun list to put together!
Oh my! Look at all these delicious covers! 😀 I LOVED your choices! 🙂
Thanks so much! It helps that I’ve read and loved most of these… so I’m not (only) judging a book by its cover. 🙂
These are so great! Wow – nice list!
My Top Ten Tuesday is here.
Thanks!
The new Susanna Kearsley covers are gorgeous. (The Shadowy Horses is my favorite!) Here are MY PICKS this week. Happy Tuesday!
Some nice covers there, but especially the one for The Hobbit.
I picked way more than 10 this week, but I the Golem & the Jinni was definitely a favorite! That cover is just so striking.
I think the Golem cover will be one of my permanent favorites! And it’s nice to know that a book that I loved so much also has a cover that I love. 🙂
Fabulous picks! I especially love Impossible’s cover!
I love the cover of MEET ME IN THE MOON ROOM! Great picks Lisa. Thanks for sharing and for dropping by my TTT last week 🙂
