Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is Books on My Fall 2026 to-Read List.
Where did all that leisurely summer reading time go? It’s hard to believe autumn is here already. From my 2026 summer TBR list, I read 8 out of the 11 books I’d hoped to read (yes, eleven — ten new books, plus one holdover from my spring list, which I did finally read!). I do intend to read the remaining three, but probably two of them will get deferred for a bit, and one will be via audiobook whenever my library hold comes in.
The spring holdovers are:
And as for a new batch of picks…
For my fall TBR, I’m going with a fresh list of even more books I plan to read! My top 10 are:
- As You Wake, Break the Shell by Becky Chambers
- Dive Bar at the End of the Road by Kelley Armstrong
- Monsters of Ohio by John Scalzi
- Murmuration by TJ Klune
- A Divided Duty (October Daye, #20) by Seanan McGuire
- Eight Ways To Say I Love You by Amanda Elliot
- Exit Party by Emily St. John Mandel
- A Symphony of Echoes (The Chronicles of St. Mary’s, #2) by Jodi Taylor
- Life Out of Order by Audrey Niffenegger
- Wool by Hugh Howey
I should also mention that I have three book group books coming up this fall as well… and being a responsible book group member, I fully intend to read them in time for our discussions!
What books are on your fall TBR? Do we have any in common?
If you wrote a TTT post, please share your link!
I swear Fall is my favorite reading season😁 I’ve already read Exit Party and I will also be reading Monsters of Ohio and Dive Bar from your list. I’m very curious about Life Out of Order too. Enjoy!
My library hold for Exit Party just came in, so I’ll be starting that one this coming week! I know what you mean about Fall — it seems like there are ALL the amazing books coming out in the next few months!
The only one of these on my current TBR is As you wake, break the shell so I hope that we both enjoy that one. I did love This Kingdom will not Kill me and the Wool Trilogy too.
I’m so glad you loved This Kingdom and Wool! I’ve been wanting to start the Wool trilogy for a while now, and since I want watch the Silo adaptation, I’m feeling even more motivated. Can’t wait to start the new Becky CHambers!
Is this a new TJ Klune book? If so, I really wonder how that is possible…

The TJ Klune is a reissue of an earlier book… but it’s new to me!! Love the cover, and I love everything he writes, so I’m excited for it!
I don’t have an official fall reading list, but out of what youve chosen here I’m curious about Exit Party. I hope you enjoy all of these!
My library hold for Exit Party just came in, so I should be starting it this weekend! Thanks so much — hope you love whatever you end up reading this fall!
Happy fall reading! 🍁
Thank you — same to you!
So many amazing books!! I really enjoyed This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me, Paladin’s Grace, and Fox and the Devil! Monsters of Ohio is one I’m hoping to start soon because he’s going to be at our small book festival in November! I hope you enjoy all the ones you get to.
Oh, how fun that you’ll get to see John Scalzi! I’m excited to read Monsters of Ohio – -his books are always so good!
Monsters of Ohio was just sent to me and will be my first! I’m very excited, especially since I live in Ohio!
Monsters of Ohio is going to be a good one!
I’m sure it will! I’m planning to listen to the audiobook — his audiobooks are always so much fun.
It looks like an excellent TBT to me!
Thanks for sharing your #TTT
Thank you! I’m excited to dive in!
This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me has been one of my favorite books I’ve read this year!
That’s awesome to hear! I can’t wait to start it!
I don’t read much horror, but I did like DIVE BAR AT THE END OF THE ROAD. I’m an Armstrong fan, so I couldn’t resist! THE HARVEY GIRL fell pretty flat for me, unfortunately. I’ve got one more book to read in the Wool trilogy, but I don’t know if I’ll get to it this year or not. We’ll see. I hope you enjoy all these!
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

I’m so glad you liked Dive Bar! I’m an Armstrong fan too, and I do enjoy good horror, so I’m excited to start it!
Great job with your summer reading list. I hope you love your fall books.
Thanks so much! So many books to look forward to!
This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me sounds really good, as does Monsters of Ohio. Fun list. Happy reading all of these! 😀
Thank you! I’m really excited for all of these!
Some lovely books on here. I would love the Niffenegger and the Klune – although I haven’t requested it just yet. I was trying to catch up. I loved TKWNKM so I hope you do too.
Lynn 😀
I’m looking forward to starting TKWNKM, although now I wonder if I should just wait and read it before the next book comes out!
That is a cunning plan 🦊
Well done on getting to so many titles from your spring list. I hope you enjoy the three left from it whenever you get a chance to read them.
Your TBR for this quarter looks fantastic. So many authors included that I’ve heard good things about. I have my eye on Murmuration too and have wanted to read Wool for ages now 🙈
I hope you enjoy all of these and have a lovely time discussing your book club choices too.
Thanks so much! I’m really looking forward to Murmuration (and the rest), and have been feeling more motivated to finally start Wool because I’d like to watch the TV adaptation (Silo), but feel like I should read the books first!
Great line-up! I’ve read and enjoyed A Symphony Of Echoes and What You Are Looking For Is In The Library of these, and I hope to read Murmuration as well.
I hope we both enjoy Murmuration! I plan to start A Symphony of Echoes in the next few weeks, and did end up reading What You Are Looking For already!
