This week’s topic is Bookish Places I’ve Visited with the prompt: Share all the cool places you’ve been that are bookish or tied to books! This includes neat libraries, book stores, places featured in books, places inspired by books, author homes/places they’ve stayed, etc. You can also share your bucket list of the bookish places you’d like to visit someday. Here are nine places I’ve been that have some connection to books — plus one that I really want to get to:

1. Forks, Washington: A road trip last summer took me through the Olympic Peninsula, and I totally fangirled out over the Twilight-ness of it all.
2. Oregon Shakespeare Festival: I love everything about the annual festival in Ashland, Oregon, and hope to make it an annual tradition.
3. New York Public Library: Iconic! Need I say more?
4. The Morgan Library and Museum in New York: I visited with my book group, shortly after we’d read The Personal Librarian, which is set at this gorgeous location.
5. Harry Potter World at Universal Studios: Okay, sure, this is mainly based on the movies… but close enough!
6. Muir Woods: This national monument, just a quick drive from where I live, is one of my favorite local destinations, and has the added bonus of being an important site in the world of the October Daye series. Every time I visit, I hope to catch a glimpse of Toby and Tybalt. Hasn’t happened yet, but I can dream!
7. Salem, Massachusetts: Connected to so many books, and I found the small park with the names of the witch trial victims incredibly moving (despite being hemmed in on all sides by so much witchy kitsch)
8. Powell’s, Portland, OR: This immense bookstore is just as amazing as everyone says! I was so happy to finally get a chance to visit last year.
9. Florence, Italy: I was fortunate enough to be able to visit Florence during college, and read The Agony and The Ecstasy immediately before the trip, then planned my sight-seeing around checking out as many Michelangelo masterpieces as possible.
10. Jane Austen’s House, Chawton, UK: Finally, one from my bucket list! I don’t know when this will happen, but someday, I absolutely want to get to this Jane Austen landmark!

All great places! I do hope you get to Chawton. Hubby took me there on his motorcycle. It was amazing.

What a great list of places you’ve been to! The Muir Woods looks so stunning, and I would love to one day visit Jane Austen’s house as well. Powell’s is very high up on my bookish places bucket list as I’ve had so many friends who live there and have told me that I would probably expire with joy if I ever went haha 😂
Getting to Powells was amazing! I could have spent even more hours there, but I was with other people and had to leave… I’ll go back someday, I hope!
I’d love to visit Chawton, too! I think the only bookish place I’ve been is NYC, where my favorite cozy mystery series is set. The one time I went I dragged my husband to as many locations as I could recall. I read a lot of fantasy, so it would probably be a little hard to visit some of my favorite bookish places!
That sounds like a great way to visit New York! There are so many iconic bookish locations!

Someday, I hope! I’ve been to England once, a long time ago… and really hope that an opportunity to visit again will come my way!
Forks and Salem are places I would love to visit. The Jane Austen house is not as easy for me to hit off the list, but it would be such a highlight!! I hope you get to!

I visited Salem a few years ago and totally fell in love! Such a cool place. I’d love to go around Halloween!
I hear Salem is crazy around Halloween! I’d love to get to experience it too. I visited in the middle of summer, and it was still crowded, and lots of fun.
I’d love to be able to visit Powell’s, if I ever get the chance to visit the PNW again.

What a great list of places! My mind honestly went blank with this prompt… The only thing I can think of is Anne Frank’s house in Amsterdam.
I’d love to go there — I’ve never been to Amsterdam, but if I ever do get there, Anne Frank’s house would be a must.
Would also love to check to Chawton (which should be a lot more achievable for me, but still hasn’t happened!), plus Haworth for the Brontes!
I have been to Muir Woods way back when while on a holiday (we’re talking 25+ years ago, can’t remember the exact year), and I remember it being beautiful!
I love Muir Woods so much! It’s one of the places we always take guests who are new to the area. Beautiful!
Forks! How cool. I definitely would love to visit it someday. And Muir Woods is another place that seems magical😁
Muir Woods is one of my favorite places. Ha, my trip to Forks was so much fun… and I have to give a shout-out to my husband, who was super patient while I kept stopping to take pictures and going to random Twilight spots (like the parking spot for Carlisle as the medical center and the high school!)
I grew up in Washington, right on the Washington/Oregon border, but I’ve never been to Forks (not really a Twilight fan) or Ashland. I have been to Powell’s multiple times, though. It’s amazing!
