Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is Books I Hope Santa Brings/Bookish Wishes. My holidays have already wrapped up and I don’t expect a visit from Santa… but in case a Book Fairy ever ends up in the neighborhood, here’s what I’m wishing for!
There are a few books here that I’m hoping to read in the coming year, a few that I’ve read but would love to own for myself… and who can resist a bookish Lego set?
Already read – want to own:

- Cinder House by Freya Marske: I loved this novella! (review)
- Everything Is Tuberculosis by John Green: Such a powerful, informative book. I’d like my own copy so I can refer back to it again (and again) (review)
- The Heir Apparent by Rebecca Armitage: Loved this one too! I borrowed a library edition, but would really like a hardcover for my shelves. (review)
Pretty editions plus a book I want to read:

- Harper Muse Classics edition of Mansfield Park — I’ve slowly managed to add all of the other Austen books in this collection to my shelves. This is the last one I still need!
- This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me by Ilona Andrews: I’ll be honest — I don’t actually know what this book is about, but it’s so gorgeous that I’m itching to buy a copy every time I see it pop up.
- The Once and Future Queen by Paula Lafferty: Yet another book that I’m definitely judging by its cover! The story sounds really good… but that beautiful design is what’s calling my name.
- Apprehension by Mary Robinette Kowal / Red Star Hustle by Sam J. Miller: This two-in-one sci-fi book sounds amazing… and with half of it by a favorite author, I really do need a copy!
LEGO!

I mean… these just seem too perfect!

Ooh, I recently saw the Jane Austen’s books Lego set and added it to my wishlist too! One day I’ll get a fun Lego set 🙂 I also can’t wait to get the new Ilona Andrews, and I also want to read the John Green book after seeing it everywhere. I hope you get these wishes fulfilled one day!
Thank you! I love the idea of Jane Austen Lego — I can’t quite justify buying it for myself, but maybe someday a family member will get inspired 🙂
I hope the book fairy grants all your wishes! 📚
Thank you! Happy holidays!
Oh, those LEGO kits are perfect. I’d love to have both of them myself. But if I had to choose, it would be the Jane Austen one all the way! 😀
I agree! (But would absolutely want both in a perfect world…)
Oh I love those Lego houses!
Aren’t they fun? Now that my kids are grown, I don’t get a chance to play with Legos anymore… but I’d love to!
Everything is Tuberculosis was a good read. I wish we had better treatments for that disease.
Yes — it was shocking to read the statistics, and to really see the point made that a cure actually exists, but just doesn’t get to the people who need it.
The Once and Future Queen is sooooo pretty!!
Isn’t it lovely? I hope the story itself is as terrific as the cover!
I love the Lego kits! I haven’t read any of these, but I’m glad to hear the John Green book is good, and I used to read a lot of Ilona Andrews.
I’ve had a few different Ilona Andrews books on my TBR over the years, and never ended up reading any of them. I’m hoping this one ends up appealing to me!
The Lego sets look like so much fun! I hope Santa brings you some or all of these 🙂

Thank you! I have a feeling that the only way I’ll actually end up with one of these Lego sets is if I treat myself…
I’m really looking forward to The Once and Future Queen as well. Happy reading!
It does look like a good one! Happy reading to you too!
That Lego bookshop is so cool! And I love that edition of Mansfield Park😍
The Austen books in this collection are so pretty! And yes, I do want that Lego bookshop set… but (like all Lego) it’s ridiculously expensive…
I really want to read Everything is Tuberculosis! I got an ARC of This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me and I am so excited. I haven’t read anything by them before! I hope the book fairy visits you! 🙂
Ooh, can’t wait to hear what you think of This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me!
I am very excited about it!!
Why don’t I have enough space for all the cool lego kits???
Same!! A trust fund just for buying Lego sets would help too 🙂
I would love to get the Lego Bookshop, but I believe it’s been discontinued. I’m still kicking myself for not picking it up when I saw it a few years ago.

It looks like so much fun! I guess Lego may not be selling it directly any longer, but there are sets available on Amazon…
Those Lego sets are darling! Wishing for your bookish dreams to come true!
Thanks for sharing your TTT list.
Thank you so much! Happy holidays!
My husband is a Lego fanatic. He’s bought me several bookish sets that he promises to build for me, and then ends up telling me he can’t open them because they’re collector’s items that are really valuable now! LOL. Someday, I’m going to sell his collection and make millions (or so he says).
Merry Christmas and Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

Haha, how funny to have Lego sets and not open them! I guess I’m not a collector — I’d be dying to start them, no matter how valuable! Happy holidays!
The Once and Future Queen looks stunning! I hope your bookish wishes come true 😊 (especially since you’ve mentioned book fairies 😉)
If you’d like to visit, here’s my TTT: (I didn’t have many bookish wishes for once, so I chose to do an older prompt I missed)

Thank you! It’s fun to think about beautiful books to wish for, even if I don’t end up getting them 🙂
Those legos look so fun.
Thank you for visiting Long and Short Review’s TTT post back in December. I’m finally getting caught up on leaving comments from it now. 😂
Thanks for visiting! It’s nice to have you stop by!
