Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is Funny Book Titles — always a fun topic to put together! I know I’ve featured at least some of these before… but here’s a collection of favorites:
- Bite Me by Christopher Moore (funny because it’s a vampire book…)
- The Island of the Sequined Love Nun by Christopher Moore (and yes, I could probably fill up this list with just this author’s book titles)
- So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish by Douglas Adams
- Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith
- Your Hate Mail Will Be Graded by John Scalzi
- Will the Vampire People Please Leave the Lobby by Allyson Beatrice
- Texts From Jane Eyre by Mallory Ortberg
- Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters by Ben H. Winters
- Eats, Shoots & Leaves by Lynne Trusse (because grammar books are funny!)
- Have You Eaten Grandma? by Gyles Brandreth (see what I mean about grammar books?)
What books are on your list? Share your links, and I’ll come check out your top 10!
Eats, Shoots & Leaves was such a good read.

I loved it! And learned a lot, too.
My mom’s editing business is actually named ‘Eats Shoots Edits,’ a take-off on ‘Eats, Shoots, and Leaves.’ 😛
That’s awesome!!
These cracked me up!
Thanks! Always a fun topic!
These were excellent! Grammar books always have such clever titles! [My Top Ten]
And they can be surprisingly fun to read!
Agree! A fun grammar book can be very entertaining. 😀
Hahahaaa fabulous! I went for a romance author, Lani Lynn Vale who has some weird titles!
Ooh, I know there are some amazing (and funny) romance titles out there. Thanks!
I didn’t realise there were more of those Jane Austen parodies.

My daughter gave me the Sea Monsters book — it looks amazing. I love how inventive some of these mash-ups are.
They’re definitely unique!
Yours is definitely my favorite list today, and not just because I’ve read some of the titles! XD Moore is a riot.
Aw, thanks! Christopher Moore’s books make me so happy. It’s been a while since I’ve read them though — I think I’m a book or two behind.
I LOVED Texts from Jane Eyre–such a fun book. You came up with great titles!
Thanks! I really loved Texts From Jane Eyre — that’s one I’ll be pulling off my shelf over and over again for a quick treat.
It’s worth a quick re-read!
These are great. I enjoyed Texts from Jane Eyre, and I’m super curious about Your Hate Mail Will Be Graded now.

It’s a collection of essays and blog posts, but John Scalzi is always so funny and entertaining.
One of these days I need to try Christopher Moore!
Lauren @ Always Me
His books are very silly and so, so funny!
You have some wonderful titles on your list! These absolutely cracked me up. I agree that grammar books sometimes have the best titles (probably because they know what they’re doing and can get away with it!). I definitely love Eats, Shoots & Leaves and Have You Eaten Grandma?
