Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is Books I’ve Added to my TBR and Forgotten Why.
I’d say about 50% of my TBR shelf qualifies! Here are 10 that jump out of me — books marked as TBR in Goodreads, but have no idea what made me add them (and in some cases, have no memory of adding them in the first place).
- My Oxford Year by Julia Whelan
- The Wise and the Wicked by Rebecca Podos
- Yellow Jessamine by Caitlin Starling
- Too Like the Lightning by Ada Palmer
- We Contain Multitudes by Sarah Henstra
- The Nobody People by Joe Proehl
- The Brideship Wife by Leslie Howard
- The Dark Tide by Alicia Jasinska
- Love in Mid Air by Kim Wright
- The Stone in the Skull by Elizabeth Bear
Have you read any of these? Are there any here that you’d particularly recommend?
If you wrote a TTT post, please share your link with me!
The Wise and the Wicked has such an eye-catching title!
My TTT .
I agree — between the title and the cover, I was probably intrigued enough to add this book, even without knowing much about the plot.
I haven’t read or heard of any of these books! Quite an interesting list and mix of covers!!
I’m glad I made this list this week — a good reminder to go back and actually look for some of these!
Great list! I love the cover of The Dark Tide and I’ve heard such good things about The Wise and the Wicked. I believe the love interest in The Wise and the Wicked is trans and I’d like to read more books with trans rep. 🙂
Oh, cool — I don’t actually know anything about The Wise & the Wicked (other than that it has a pretty cover) — more reason to read it!
I think I’ve heard The Oxford Year was good.
Great to know! I must have stumbled across a good review at some point. 🙂
The Wise and the Wicked looks good! Great list 💛

Thanks! I’m excited to have rediscovered some of these on my TBR list!
I know I HAD my Oxford year on my list. It may have been purged–I went thru mine with a vengence recently. Good post!
I do pretty severe purges every so often — I’m probably overdue!
Fun topic this week! I too have Too Like the Lightning; the premise interested me but I’m not in the mood yet to read it, lol.
Hope all is well with you Lisa! 🙂 Been a while since I’ve blog hopped, oops xD
Hi Lianne – Nice to see you again! I hope you’re doing well. 🙂 I think Too Like the Lightning sounds really good — but it’s part of a series, and lately I just haven’t been up for starting more series and then feeling compelled to keep going.
I haven’t read any of these. When I was going through my Goodreads shelf for my list, I was surprised by some of books on there.
I try to go back and delete titles I don’t recognize every once in a while, but it’s amazing how quickly that shelf grows!
Nope… sorry… don’t know any of them!
The nice thing about this week’s prompt is that it’s making me want to know more about the books on my list. 🙂
I recently read The Nobody People and enjoyed it! It’s set in a near-future, with horrifyingly accurate government policies.. it feels eerily familiar — internment camps, etc. It’s definitely got an X-men vibe to it!
Great to know, thank you! Maybe I’ll finally read it. 🙂
