Yay for Seanan McGuire! I’m super excited about Middlegame too😊
I love everything she writes! I’m not sure how she writes so many books every year, but I’m really glad she does. 🙂
Hi Lisa! Some great choices here. I have to catch up with Lisa See’s books. I’m several behind!
I have a few of hers yet to read as well, but I did really love her most recent (The Teagirl of Hummingbird Lane), and I think this new one sounds amazing!
I see the Teagirl everywhere – I’m going to have to get on the ball here!
I adore the cover for “The Book of Flora.” Hope it’s good!
This is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
Me too! 🙂 The Book of Flora is the third book in a trilogy, and since I really enjoyed the world of the first two, I have high hopes.
Great post, which of these books are you most looking forward to?
Ooh, tough question! Well, I’d say any of the Seanan McGuire books, but I’m also really excited for The Island of Sea Women. It sounds so interesting, and I love the cover!
Great list, Lisa! I need to give the Mercy Thompson books a try this year – I love urban fantasy when I read it but I don’t reach for it very often, so with any luck I’ll be able to gobble up more of it in 2019.
Oh, I think you’ll love Mercy! I hope you do give her a try. The books and the characters really grabbed me right from the start.
I loved In an Absent Dream! I’m so happy it’s finally out today. 😀 Looking forward to reading Middlegame soon too.
I can’t wait to get home from work today so I can start In an Absent Dream! (Fingers crossed that my delivery arrived on time…)
Comics Will Break Your Heart looks so good!
I’m excited to read it! I’ve read graphic novels by this author, and think she’s really talented.
I’m really looking forward to reading Leigh Bardugo’s King of Scars. And Holly Black’s The Wicked King.
I’m taking notes as most of those books from your list are new to me. Thank you. Happy reading. 😊📚
I know I should read the Holly Black books! Happy reading! I”m always on the look-out for new ideas… and more books to add to my list.
I’m going to be reading more Seanan McGuire this year too.
She’s so amazing! I’m constantly blown away by the worlds she creates.
I don’t read much historical fiction but The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See sounds fantastic. Thanks for letting me know about its existence. Arrr!
x The Captain
Have you read any of her other books? She’s so good at depicting different cultures through really memorable characters.
I read snowflower and the secret fan because the ma bought it for me. And I loved it. Then I read shanghai girls and really liked that one too. So this one sounds like it will float me boat.
x The Captain
Middlegame also made my list this week. Fingers crossed we’ll both enjoy it! 🙂
Lauren @ Always Me
I can’t wait! I can’t say I’ve ever felt let down by Seanan McGuire!
This is finally going to be the year I start The Mercy Thompson series. Seriously I have no idea what’s holding me back. lol I’m also excited for Daisy Jones, however, I didn’t love Evelyn Hugo so I’m really hoping this one turns out better.
I still haven’t read Evelyn Hugo (kicking myself…), but I have really enjoyed all her other books, so fingers crossed for Daisy Jones! Yes, you have to read Mercy! The characters, the world, the relationships — it’s just all so perfect. 🙂
I really want to because I’m positive I’d love that series. It just gets so daunting when there are SO many installments to catch up on. lol
Well, only 10 so far (#11 on the way)… so fewer books than the October Daye series. 🙂 (Of course, you’ll have to read the Alpha & Omega books too, which are connected…)
