Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is about reading plans for spring. What’s on my to-be-read list? Well, I suppose I could start with the six books from my winter TBR post which I still haven’t read… but where’s the fun in that?
So, to welcome spring, here’s a brand new set of 10 books that I’m looking forward to reading:
1) Epitaph by Mary Doria Russell
2) Prudence by Gail Carriger
3) A Desperate Fortune by Susanna Kearsley
4) A Darker Shade of Magic by V. E. Schwab
5) Inside the O’Briens by Lisa Genova
6) The Bookseller by Cynthia Swanson
7) The Secrets We Keep by Trisha Leaver
8) The Well by Catherine Chanter
9) Eight Hundred Grapes by Laura Dave
And turning to books that have been on my to-read list for far too long…
10) With the passing last week of Sir Terry Pratchett, I realize that it’s time for me to stop saying that I’ll eventually read some Discworld books and just go ahead and get started! Or, you know, finally read the copy of Good Omens that’s been calling my name for a few years now. RIP, Terry Pratchett.
What books are you looking forward to reading this spring?

I really need to get on board with the series by V.E Schwab! Everyone seems to be loving it! Good luck with your Spring TBR!
I haven’t read anything by V. E. Schwab yet, but I have this book plus Vicious on my TBR shelf. I’ve heard such good things! (But actually, I didn’t realize A Darker Shade of Magic is part of a series, which makes me less excited to read it. Bummer). Thanks!
I haven’t seen these books but Inside the O’Briens and The Secrets We Keep caught my eye. I know I shouldn’t go by just the title and the cover, but that’s how it is sometimes, isn’t it? what will you read first?
The cover is part of the magic! I’m waiting for my copy of Prudence to arrive, so I’d love to start with that one… but if not, I’ll probably try to get through Epitaph before going to a bookstore appearance by the author at the end of the month.
I just read The Bookseller and LOVED IT! You can see my review on it here: https://rebeccabookreview.wordpress.com/2015/03/09/2015-book-19-the-bookseller-by-cynthia-swanson/
I’m so glad to hear you loved The Bookseller! I’ll circle back and read your review once I finish it… I try not to read other people’s reviews until I finish a book. đŸ™‚ Thanks for stopping by!
Prudence comes out the day after tomorrow in the UK, and I’m secretly praying it’s delivered a day early. Because I need it. And otherwise all my US bookish friends will accidentally spoil it. Fantastic list đŸ™‚
Cora @ Tea Party Princess
I ordered my copy from the UK so I could get a paperback, but it means waiting another week probably for it to get delivered. đŸ˜¦ I will do my best to avoid spoilers, though… I’ve been waiting to read about Prudence since the end of the Parasol Protectorate series!
Great list Lisa! Awesome that The Well is also on your list. Hee, you’re the second person who’s listed Susanna Kearsley on your list this week; I have a number of her books on my TBR pile that I need to get to (sometime later this year, I hope!). I really want to read Eight Hundred Grapes. Happy reading đŸ™‚
I was very sad to hear about Sir Terry Pratchett’s passing last week. Hope you enjoy his books, they are certainly a delight!
My TTT
Thanks, Lianne! I’ve only ever read one book by Terry Pratchett, and I’ve always been intimidated by the idea of diving into Discworld, since there are so many books, but no time like the present! Susanna Kearsley is really one of my favorites (I think I’ve read 7 or 8 of her books by now), and I’m so looking forward to the new one! Have a great spring full of wonderful books!
Love all your covers! A couple of these are on my TBR list. The rest I’ll have to check out. Happy Tuesday! My TTT
Thanks! Happy Tuesday to you too… looking forward to seeing what you have on your TBR list. đŸ™‚
Definitely recommend ADSOM! I was also prompted to finally get to reading Terry Prathett’s work. I started listening to Good Omens yesterday. And I’m planning to start with Discworld soon (I think I’m going to start with Mort instead of the first book).
See, this is why I keep talking myself out of Discworld — I keep hearing different opinions on where to start! đŸ™‚ I’ll give Color of Magic a try, but I’ll keep Mort in mind too.
That kept holding me back, too. I found this guide to Discworld that identifies several potential starting points, then picked the one that sounded most interesting to me. I don’t think you can go wrong with the others though.
I am definitely interested in Prudence. Gail Carriger is such a fun writer!
I agree! The Finishing School series didn’t really appeal to me (I only read the first book), but I loved the Parasol Protectorate!
Great list! I am so excited for Inside the O’Briens. That one seems so interesting!
I’m really looking forward to it, although I suppose I should really read Still Alice at some point too.
I’ve never read Pratchett, but Good Omens looks cool. I should honor the author by reading it!

People have been pushing Good Omens at me for years! đŸ™‚ I think it’s about time…
I’ve been meaning to read a Schwab book for ages! I don’t know why I haven’t yet… I should read Pratchett too, especially with him dying. I hope you enjoy them all đŸ™‚
Thanks for visiting Addlepates and Book Nerds! đŸ™‚
Thanks so much! These lists are helpful at reminding me what I’ve been meaning to read, even if I don’t actually end up reading them any time soon.
A Darker Shade of Magic is PERFECTION and I also want to read Good Omens; it’s such a pity that Pratchett passed away! I loved your list đŸ™‚
Thank you! I’ve heard only good things about A Darker Shade of Magic, and I’m so excited that I finally have a copy!
Ah I wish I had a copy lol I’m too broke for life haha I received a digital copy of it though so it’s not too bad!
There are quite a few on this list I haven’t heard of before. My TBR may have just gotten longer. đŸ™‚
Thanks for sharing!
That’s what I love about TTT lists — I’m always finding something new to explore! Thanks for stopping by. đŸ™‚
I just posted my review of A Darker Shade of Magic which was so delightful. I hope you have a lovely spring!
So excited to read it! I’m glad you liked the book!
Ooh great list! I’m reading Prudence right now, have actually been reading it for the past 3 weeks, and I desperately need to talk to someone about it. lol I can’t figure out if it’s the book or me that has the issue. I fear it’s me, but it is what it is. đŸ™‚ I’ve got an ARC of The Bookseller, I might be reading that soon too. Sounds really good! And The Well! Sounds very interesting… can’t wait to read what you have to say about all these! đŸ™‚
Uh oh, now I”m worried about Prudence! I ordered my copy from Book Depository so I could get a paperback, but it hasn’t shipped yet. đŸ˜¦ We’ll have to chat!
I remember reading the synopsis for The Well a while back (I think there was a giveaway for it on Goodreads–but I forget) and I thought to myself that I’d likely just peace out if I lived anywhere within proximity to the Well. Wouldn’t want to attract unwanted attention LOL. But I guess the book does spark some intrigue for me!
Cheers,
