Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is Most Anticipated Books Releasing in the Second Half of 2025.
All of a sudden it’s summer, and… whoosh!… time is flying by. It’s hard to think about the 2nd half of 2025 already, when I’ve barely kept up with my reading plans from the 1st half.
Here are ten books scheduled for release from July through December that I’m looking forward to:

- A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna (7/15/2025)
- The Last Wizards’ Ball (Gunnie Rose, #6) by Charlaine Harris (7/55/2025)
- Hemlock & Silver by T. Kingfisher (8/19/2025)
- Play Nice by Rachel Harrison (9/9/2025)
- The Poisoned King (Impossible Creatures, #2) by Katherine Rundell (9/11/2025)
- The Shattering Peace (Old Man’s War, #7) by John Scalzi (9/19/2025)
- Silver and Lead (October Daye, #19) by Seanan McGuire (9/30/2025)
- The Haunting of Payne’s Hollow by Kelley Armstrong (10/14/2025)
- The Keeper of Magical Things by Julie Leong (10/14/2025)
- Blind Date with a Werewolf by Patricia Briggs (10/21/2025)
What upcoming new releases are you most excited for? Please share your TTT links!

I didn’t know John Scalzi had a new book coming out. Cool!
It’s a new book in his Old Man’s War series! I’m really excited to read it (although I could probably use a refresher on the earlier books books first…)
I feel like I’ve been waiting a really long time for A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping to finally come out. I hope it’s as good as her first book. 😀
Same here, and I hope so too! It looks like it’ll be a fun summer read. 🙂
I need to catch up on Harris’s new series. This one looks like one I’d enjoy. Hope you enjoy all of these 🙂
This is really a great series! I’ve been enjoying the audiobooks, and the story is so original!
Asil!
I’m really excited for The Keeper of Magical Things! There are so many books the last half of the year, and completely forgot about that one.
I’m excited for that one too — loved her last book!
So much to look forward to!
I agree!
Sangu Mandanna seems to be on every list this week! I’m not the biggest fan of cozy fantasy, so I’m not sure if I’ll be reading this one yet.

I like cozy fantasy in small doses… and since it’s been a while since my last one, I think I’m ready! 🙂
I have an ARC of The Haunting of Paynes Hollow I’m anxious to get to. I’ve seen A Witch’s Guide on several lists.
I’m looking forward to starting Paynes Hollow too! Kelley Armstrong’s books are always so good.
I know what you mean, the year is just going too fast! I’m excited for Play Nice and the new Kelley Armstrong in particular😁
Both look amazing! I don’t know how I’m going to keep up!
I hope you enjoy all these!
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

Thank you!
Good stuff! Thanks for reading my blog today!
Thanks! My pleasure!
Oh I know the year is flying by and I also feel like I haven’t kept up with my goals as much as I’d like! I still haven’t read Impossible Creatures and now book 2 is coming out! 😲 The Keeper of Magical Things also looks adorable!
Impossible Creatures is fantastic! And if you enjoy audiobooks, then definitely check out the audio for this book. Excellent narration!
I hadn’t heard about Play Nice before! I love a good haunted house story.
Me too! And Rachel Harrison’s books are always great!
These look like some fantastic choices. I hope you enjoy all of them 🥰 I’m curious about quite a few of them too, especially the Kingfisher and cosy fantasy novels. Plus with the Gunnie Rose series ending I really should finally read it 🙈 I’ve loved other books by the author and have high hopes for the series. I’m also hoping to check out Impossible Creatures before the sequel releases. I don’t read much middle grade fiction but that one sounds fantastic. I’m kind of hoping to snag a secondhand special edition on Vinted because I believe it had a bonus short story in it 🤔
