Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is May Flowers — open to however we want to approach it (titles, covers, plots, characters…)
I’m going with flowers in the titles, and to challenge myself, I’m only including books I’ve actually read. I also decided to see if I could come up with 10 without repeating any flowers… although I couldn’t resist adding in all the “rose” possibilities after the fact.
Here are ten books for my May Flowers list:

- Wink Poppy Midnight by April Genevieve Tucholke
- A Red-Rose Chain by Seanan McGuire
- Peony by Pearl S. Buck (want to read)
- Dash & Lily‘s Book of Dares by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn
- The Girl in Hyacinth Blue by Susan Vreeland
- Lavender House by Lev AC Rosen
- Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
- The Tulip Eaters by Antoinette van Heugten
- A Fall of Marigolds by Susan Meissner
- The Red Lotus by Chris Bohjalian
- White Oleander by Janet Fitch
Oh, okay, here are a bunch of rose books from my shelves!

Hmmm, I supposed I could have save all these rose books for a future freebie post! Oh well… I’m having too much fun to wait.
What books have you read with flowers in the title?
If you wrote a TTT post this week, please share your link!

wow you have so many different flowers in the titles, I doubt I’d be able to find as many in my read list! I added The Wars of the Roses by Alison Weir to my tbr because I’ve been wanting to try that author!
I’ve read a couple of her non-fiction books so far, but I’d like to try her fiction too!
A great collection. I loved The Girl in Hyacinth Blue and White Oleander.
Those were both great!
I love the cover of Lavendar House!
Such a good book (in addition to having a great cover!). Definitely recommended.
Fab list – Tulip Eaters sounds fab!
I read it a really long time ago, but I remember it being really powerful.
Lol I like all the roses at the end.
The typography on the Wink Poppy Midnight is one of my favs.
I couldn’t resist including all my rose books! 🙂
If you like historical fiction and haven’t read Lilac Girls by Julia Kelly you totally should. As soon as I saw the theme that is the first book that popped in my head but it (and the whole trilogy) is very good.
I remember hearing really good things about Lilac Girls — thanks for the reminder that I really should read it!
All the 🌹 ! Fabulous collection of covers!
Thanks! These type of posts are fun 🙂
Tricky to not repeat flowers in a list like this. And you found so many great titles! I love it. 😀
Thanks! Some weeks I struggle with the TTT topic — this one was fun!
Bryony & Roses was a nice one. Here is mine: cathysreadingbonanza.wordpress.com/2024/05/07/top-ten-tuesday-flowers-its-50-50-for-me/
I haven’t read Bryony & Roses yet, but I definitely plan to!
Habe you read Thornhedge yet? Very good…
Yes! I loved it. I’ve read most of her more recent books, and need to start reading the backlist too.
Yes, yes, lots of backlist… 😏
This such a great idea/list, and I’m sure it wasn’t easy! And yes, “rose” is such a popular title word😁
This was a fun one 🙂
I did the same thing and roses were by far the most common flower I found in book titles. There are tons of them, but I only used one since I was trying for ten different flowers.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

It was hard to get to 10 without using a ton of roses, right? Really fun topic this week.
I did not realize how prevalent Rose was in book titles! This is really cool!
Thanks! We’ll never run out of rose books 🙂
