Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is Water — as a topic, title, book cover element, or whatever we want.
I decided to keep it simple and feature ten books I’ve read that have Water in the title:

- Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel
- Ring of Bright Water by Gavin Maxwell
- Circles on the Water by Marge Piercy
- Rainwater by Sandra Brown
- Dead in the Water by Dana Stabenow
- A Yellow Raft in Blue Water by Michael Dorris
- By the Silver Water of Lake Champlain by Joe Hill
- Water: Tales of Elemental Spirits by Robin McKinley & Peter Dickinson
- Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
- The Water is Wide by Pat Conroy
What “watery” books have you read?
If you did a TTT post this week, please share your link!

What did you think of By the Silver Waters of Lake Champlain? It caught my attention.
It’s a story, not a full novel, and I read it many years ago… but I remember being very caught up in it. Joe Hill is a great writer, and it was a pretty cool premise.
Conroy’s cover is beautiful.
I agree! That’s not the cover of the paperback I read ages ago (it had a much more 70s vibe to it, I think) — it was such a long time ago!
Water for Elephants sounds good.
Here is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
It was a really good one (although the movie version was fairly mediocre)
I’m curious about A Yellow Raft in Blue Water.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
It’s a great read — I’m probably due for a re-read, in fact.
Fab list! I really struggled with this one!!
I wasn’t feeling too creative, so just stuck with the actual word “water” and didn’t try to get too fancy! 🙂
Nice spin Lisa!
Thanks!
Great choices for this week’s TTT. I think Rainwater is my favorite of these, followed closely by The Water is Wide. 😀
Both are really good books!
We are kindred souls! We had several of the same books! Love it!
Oh, awesome! Now I need to pop over to see your list 🙂
Nice list! Other than WATER FOR ELEPHANTS, I haven’t read any of these, although there are several I really need to check out.
Happy TTT!

I read all of these so long ago, but I do remember how much I enjoyed Water for Elephants!
I haven’t thought about Like Water for Chocolate in years! Great list😁
I remember loving that book way back when… I wonder if it’s worth a re-read.
