Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is Books That Make Me Smile.
Awwww. Such a happy topic. I’m smiling already, just thinking about creating this list!
Here are ten of my favorite smile-worthy books:
Are you doubting my ability to count to 10? Yes, there are actually 13 books shown, because I’m including an entire series as one choice.
- The Finishing School series by Gail Carriger (4 books)
- The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin
- The Android’s Dream by John Scalzi
- Dealing with Dragons by Patricia C. Wrede
- Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
- Emma by Jane Austen
- Little Beach Street Bakery by Jenny Colgan
- The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
- Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery
- A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore
Which books make you smile? Do we have any in common?
Please share your links!
Fun selections. AJ Fikry was wonderful!
It’s been years since I read it, but it warms my heart just thinking about it!
I haven’t read any of the books on this list except for ‘Anne of Green Gables,’ which I really like. I usually gravitate towards the really dark stuff so reading something heart-warming can be a nice change of pace. Great list! 🙂
I tend to go dark myself when it comes to my reading habits, but it’s nice to find cheery reads every once in a while too! I just read the whole Anne series last year, and loved it.
Great list! Anne of Green Gables is also on mine! I really need to read the house on the cerulean sea!
My post!
The House on the Cerulean Sea is so lovable and charming! I hope you give it a try!
Great list! I need to get to The House in the Cerulean Sea asap, it sounds so lovely.
It really is wonderful. 🙂
The House in the Cerulean Sea is on so many lists! I guess I need to get it 😅. I have Fangirl on my list but I haven’t read Carry On yet.
Fangirl is wonderful too, of course! I really enjoyed Carry On.
Anne of Green Gables is one of my favorites. I am not familiar with the others on your list, but The House in the Gerulean Sea sounds wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

I was a latecomer with Anne of Green Gables — somehow missed it in my childhood, but I finally read the series last year, and loved it!
The House on the Cerulean Sea is on so many lists this week – this definitely feels like a sign that I should read it ASAP. Just followed your blog – seems like we have similar taste in books!
My TTT
Thanks for the follow! I’m eager to see what books you love too. 🙂 The House on the Cerulean Sea is wonderful.
Carry On and emma are smile-worthy books 😀
The Emma audiobook makes me laugh out loud every time I listen to it. 🙂
I’m so glad you loved carry on – it’s one of my favourite books and seeing it on here made me smile😊 I don’t know if you’ve heard, but rainbow made some major announcements about the third book (Im so excited!). This was my thoughts on the cover- check it out! https://hundredsandthousandsofbooks.blog/2020/10/11/when-you-wait-two-years-for-a-cover-reveal-and/
