Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is The First Ten Books I Reviewed — and while the description for the topic leaves it up to the individual whether to include formal reviews or blurbs online or simple reactions, well, anywhere, I thought I’d focus on my very first ten book review posts from when I started blogging. Yeah, I’d probably write most of them a bit differently now, all these years later, but it is kind of fun to look back and remember the books that excited me all those years ago!
My first ten reviews:
1) Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness (review)
2) Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein (review)
3) Talullah Rising (The Last Werewolf, #2) by Glen Duncan (review)
4) Heading Out to Wonderful by Robert Goolrick (review)
5) The Revisionists by Thomas Mullen (review)
6) Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler and Maira Kalman (review)
7) Magic For Beginners by Kelly Link (review)
8) Ocean’s Surrender by Denise Townsend (review)
9) Some Kind of Fairy Tale by Graham Joyce (review)
10. Ashfall by Mike Mullin (review)

I’m loving the topic this week. It’s fun to look back and see how we’ve changed over the years. I don’t think I’ve read any of these books though!
It was surprisingly fun! And made me realize just how long it’s been since I read some of these books. 🙂
Great list! Magic for Beginners and Code Name Verity are two I still really want to get to. 🙂
Code Name Verity is one of the most powerful books I’ve ever read. It’s a must-read!
Code Name Verity is one of my favourite books-it was a much later review for me though, I think I read it in 2016, about two year after I started blogging.

I recommend Code Name Verity to people all the time! I’ve reread it a couple of times as well, and it really holds up.
Yes, it’s such a good book!
The Last Werewolf was one of my favorite books too, but I never finished the trilogy for some reason😁
Me either! I read the first two books, and I think maybe by the time the 3rd came out, too much time had gone by for me to remember enough of the details. I do have the final book on my shelf! Maybe someday… although I’d have to go back and re-read the previous books, and as much as I enjoyed them, I can’t see wanting to do that.
I really should read Ashfall sometime!
My TTT.
It was very good!
The first review I did on my blog was for the unbinding of Mary Reade!

Ooh, I’ve heard good things about that book!
Codename Verity! I loved that book. Now I want to re-read it this minute 🙂 Some Kind of Fairy Tale is on my TBR list. And Ashfall sounds good. Thanks 🙂
One of my Code Name Verity re-reads was via audiobook, which was great, except I was listening in public and it made me cry. 🙂
What an interesting selection of books!
It was definitely a fun exercise to go back and see all these early reviews! 🙂
I love seeing all these books from way back! The only one on this list I’ve heard of before is Code Name Verity.
I’m really loving seeing everyone else’s lists too! So many books that are new to me!
