Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is Books I Meant to Read In 2018 but Didn’t Get To.
I could easily come up with way more than 10… but I’ll stick to ten books I bought in 2018 but still haven’t read:
1) Becoming by Michele Obama
2) Someday by David Levithan
3) There There by Tommy Orange
4) A Map of Days by Ransom Riggs
5) The Fated Sky by Mary Robinette Kowal
6) Time’s Convert by Deborah Harkness
7) Death of an Eye by Dana Stabenow
8) Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik
9) Witchmark by C. L. Polk
10) The Book of M by Peng Shepherd
Have you read any of these? What books from 2018 do you still need to read?
Please share your thoughts… and if you have a TTT post, please share your link!
I haven’t read any of these either, but there are a few on my list: There There, Becoming and The Book of M are all books I’d love to squeeze in sometime!
I hear such good things about all of them. 🙂
I finally got a copy of Becoming yesterday. Can’t wait to read it! Hope you get to read it soon, too.
This is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
I bought myself a copy as a holiday treat, but now I’m leaning toward listening to the audiobook, since she does the narration. I hope you enjoy the book!
Thanks. I hope you enjoy the audio version.
I got Spinning SIlver last year and haven’t read it yet. Someday looks great too.
Nice list! Hope you enjoy all of these.
Thanks! I was so excited for Spinning Silver (and still am) — can’t believe I still haven’t gotten to it.
Great list! Spinning Silver made my list this week, too, and There There is one I’d like to check out – I need to read more First Nations authors. I love the cover of Death of an Eye!
I’ve heard such good things about There There — really looking forward to it!
I also really wanted to read Becoming, but haven’t gotten to it yet. I think I’ll probably listen to the audiobook though, because she narrates it herself. Happy reading!
I’m leaning toward the audiobook as well, even though I own the hardcover. Listening to someone narrate their own memoirs can be such a treat!
I still have to read Spinning Silver, as well. I put it on my Christmas list and then didn’t actually get it and now keep forgetting about it. :p
I actually bought myself a copy when it came out last summer! I don’t know why I haven’t started it yet (I loved her previous book) — probably just too many books to read!
Same! I loved Uprooted and was really excited about this one and just…haven’t read it.
I think the series this year I’m going to read is Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children! Those books look like a good list for 2019 however 😉
The Miss Peregrine books really are fun — I hope you enjoy them!
There’s some on here that I’d really like to read. I hope you like them when you get around to them!
Thanks so much!
Great list! The Fated Sky made my list as well, no idea why I haven’t read it yet as the first book was so good! Here’s my list: http://www.tenaciousreader.com/2019/01/22/top-ten-tuesday-2018-shame-list-or-books-i-mean-to-read-last-year-but-didnt/
I know, I really loved The Calculating Stars!
I’d like to read Becoming this year too. I can’t let the year end without completing it.
Same! I’m hoping to start the audiobook within the next month.
I heard so many good things about Michelle Obama’s book. I hope you get a chance to pick it up soon.
Thanks! I have a copy — now just need to get started!
I read Spinning Silver in 2018 and I was disappointed with it, though I think I am in the minority, so I hope you like it!
Thanks! Sorry to hear you were disappointed with it. I feel like I’ve heard mixed reactions — can’t wait to check it out myself. 🙂
Oh man. If it makes you feel any better, I still have yet to read Uprooted. lol Hopefully this year. 🙂
So many books… I do hope you read Uprooted! It’s so good.
I’ve been wanting to read Becoming and There There. The wait list at the library for Becoming is 6 months long! So maybe if I put a hold on it now, I’ll get to read it in 2019! Meantime I should read There There. I have so many books on my list, I’m a little overwhelmed!
Oh gosh, I’m so overwhelmed right now! I swore I was going to cut back on ARCs and focus on the books I already own, but that resolution is completely out the window. Argh!
I just scheduled a post just like this but 2019 edition! My mom is currently reading Becoming by Michelle Obama and I want to read the Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children series soon too!
