Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is Ten Books I’ve Added To My To-Be-Read List Lately. My TBR list seems to grow and grow, almost by magic! In no particular order, here are ten books I’ve added in the last month or so:
1)Unmentionable: The Victorian Lady’s Guide to Sex, Marriage, and Manners by Therese Oneill: A non-fiction book actually makes my TBR! A look at the nitty gritty details of Victorian women’s lives sounds too good to miss.
2) The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan: A friend just recommended this one, and I have to admit, it sounds perfect for me.
3) The Taxidermist’s Daughter by Kate Mosse: I just happened to pick this book up when there was a Kindle price drop. The description says it’s “a chilling and spooky Gothic historical thriller “. Works for me.
4) Extreme Makeover by Dan Wells: Creepy, satirical sci fi. I love the description – can’t wait to see if the book lives up to its billing.
5) The Sleepwalker by Chris Bohjalian: Okay, I’ll read anything by this author at this point.
6) Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman: Yes, please.
7) Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Seanan McGuire: A follow up to Every Heart a Doorway, which was one of my very favorite things this year.
8) Lady Cop Makes Trouble by Amy Stewart: Book 2 about the Kopp Sisters, after the terrific Girl Waits With Gun. I won this in a giveaway, and have been waiting for the right moment to dive in.
9) What Light by Jay Asher: A new book by the author of Thirteen Reasons Why. Tissue box is ready, so let me at it.
10) Good Morning, Midnight by Lily Brooks-Dalton: I’m not sure that I know what this book is about, but I’ve read enough of the synopsis to be intrigued.

“What Light” made my list too! I just got it when it came out and am curious to give it a chance – especially since Jay would be a new-to-me author. 🙂
I’m excited to read it, whenever my library gets a copy. I do encourage you to check out Thirteen Reasons Why!
Cool! Good to know, Lisa. Thanks. 🙂
Appreciate you visiting Finding Wonderland.
So many wonderful additions. I have never heard of any of them but I like the sound of 2,3,5 and 7 and the cover for the last one looks great. I hope they all turn out to be wonderful reads.Happy reading 🙂
Thank you!
I love a striking cover so Down Among the Sticks and Bones has caught my attention straight away. I’d probably better check out the first book you mentioned first though.
I really want to try some non-fiction, so Unmentionable sounds like a good choice.
I read The Taxidermist’s Daughter a while ago and enjoyed it, so hope you do too 🙂
I’m glad to hear you enjoyed The Taxidermist’s Daughter! I definitely recommend checking out Every Heart a Doorway. It’s a novella, so it’ll go quickly!
Great list! I can’t wait for the Norse Mythology book to come out. You just made my TBR list longer, LOL!

Awesome — mine keeps getting longer too, every time I see someone else’s TTT list! Can’t wait for the Norse Mythology book. 🙂
Unmentionable looks really good! Looks like you have some great ones on your list. Happy reading! Here is my link: https://bookbinges.blogspot.it/2016/11/top-ten-tuesday-recent-additions-to-tbr.html
Yes, I’m really looking forward to reading Unmentionable, just as soon as my library gets a copy. 🙂
I so want to read “Bookshop on the Corner” and “Lady Cop Makes Trouble.”

I just got a copy of Bookshop on the Corner today. I think it’s just what I need!
Interesting list. Chris Bojalian is an fascinating author. A few others look like good candidates for my one or two “out of my normal genres” reading next year.
Actually, I just requested Norse Mythology. I loved one of his books. This is a topic I planned for 2017–getting D’Aulaires for a quick refresher https://www.amazon.com/DAulaires-Norse-Myths-Ingri-dAulaire/dp/159017125X
I love the D’Aulaires books! My son and I read the Norse mythology one last year. I’m really looking forward to seeing how Neil Gaiman approaches the stories.
I only dislike Pochontas–they only one that shows it’s age. Love the others. My kids did, too, when they were younger. Giving them to the great-nephews this Christmas.
“Unmentionable” sounds really interesting! I love nonfiction and this is definitely getting added to my list. Thanks for the recommendation!

I hope you enjoy it! I have another non-fiction book on my shelf about Victorian daily life, but this one sounds even more fun. 🙂
I really need to read Every Heart a Doorway… and I didn’t realize it was a series!!!
It’s such a good book! I’m not sure if it’s meant to be an ongoing series, or if it’s just these two books. Either way, I can’t wait for the new one!
I also have the Gaiman on my wishlist – can’t wait for that one!
And I loved Every Heart a Doorway so No.2 will go straight to the top of the list.
Lynn 😀
I really loved Every Heart a Doorway. I read the hardcover, and I’m looking forward to listening to the audiobook as well.
Unmentionable is new to me, and sounds right up my alley! I love social and cultural history, fascinating stuff. Oh those Victorians….!!
I don’t read a lot of non-fiction, but Unmentionable definitely sounds like something I’ll enjoy. 🙂
We have a book in common! Yay for a new Neil Gaiman book 😀 http://www.curious-daisy.com/top-ten-tuesday/9-books-ive-recently-added-to-my-tbr/
The Neil Gaiman book should be great! I’ve been trying to cut back on preorders, but that one I couldn’t resist.
I hope you enjoy The Taxidermist’s Daughter! I’m also looking forward to Norse Mythology and Down Among the Sticks and Bones 😀 Great list!
Thanks! So many great books to look forward to. 🙂
Great post & list, Lisa! I, too, want to read Jay Asher’s, What Light! I actually own an ARC of it but I haven’t picked it up yet! I haven’t read anything by Neil Gaiman yet, but he is definitely on my TBR too! 🙂

Neil Gaiman’s books are so wonderful! You really can’t go wrong with just about anything he’s written.
I’m not huge on non-fiction either but that one does sound interesting! Good Morning, Midnight also recently made it onto my TBR. Really excited to get my hands on that one actually and I’m not fully sure why lol
I just finished it today! I felt kind of “meh” about it by the end, but I’d love to hear other opinions!
