My Monday tradition, including a look back and a look ahead — what I read last week, what new books came my way, and what books are keeping me busy right now. Plus a smattering of other stuff too.
In real life:
I went to a social event! And by social event, I mean book event. I went to a Silent Reading Party, and it was just as awesome as it sounds. Check out my post about it, here.
What did I read last week?
Dark Matter by Blake Crouch: Done! Wow, what a ride. My review is here.
New release celebration!
Check out my spotlight post (with a terrific author Q&A) for The Memory Wall by Lev AC Rosen. The book comes out tomorrow!
Fresh Catch:
Just one new book this week — I picked up a used copy of a book that’s been on my TBR list since last year:
What will I be reading during the coming week?
Currently in my hands:
The Magician King by Lev Grossman: I figured it’s about time to return to this trilogy and read the 2nd and 3rd books.
Now playing via audiobook:
The Android’s Dream by John Scalzi, narrated by Wil Wheaton: Silly, sci-fi fun. I should be done in the next few days.
Ongoing reads:
With my book group (2 chapters per week of each):
- Written in My Own Heart’s Blood by Diana Gabaldon
- A Farewell To Arms by Ernest Hemingway
Via the Serial Reader app (read about it here):
- Moby Dick by Herman Melville: — as of this week, I’m at 18%!
So many books, so little time…
