There’s nothing like a Wednesday for thinking about the books we want to read! My Wishing & Waiting on Wednesday post is linking up with two fabulous book memes, Wishlist Wednesday (hosted by Pen to Paper) and Waiting on Wednesday (hosted by Breaking the Spine).
My most wished-for book this week is:
Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith
(expected US publication date: October 20, 2015)
Synopsis via Goodreads:
When a mysterious package is delivered to Robin Ellacott, she is horrified to discover that it contains a woman’s severed leg.
Her boss, private detective Cormoran Strike, is less surprised but no less alarmed. There are four people from his past who he thinks could be responsible – and Strike knows that any one of them is capable of sustained and unspeakable brutality.
With the police focusing on the one suspect Strike is increasingly sure is not the perpetrator, he and Robin take matters into their own hands, and delve into the dark and twisted worlds of the other three men. But as more horrendous acts occur, time is running out for the two of them…
Career of Evil is the third in the highly acclaimed series featuring private detective Cormoran Strike and his assistant Robin Ellacott. A fiendishly clever mystery with unexpected twists around every corner, it is also a gripping story of a man and a woman at a crossroads in their personal and professional lives.
Cormoran Strike is back, with his assistant Robin Ellacott, in a mystery based around soldiers returning from war.
Ooh, ooh, ooh! A new Cormoran Strike book! Can’t wait!

I haven’t touched anything by her in this series. .. recommend it?
I do! I liked the first two quite a bit. The mysteries are maybe a bit more convoluted than they need to be, but I love the main characters and his assistant.
Aww Lisa! Looks like a fantastic book 😀 I hope you enjoy it when you read it.
Happy reading,
Amy x
Thanks so much! I’m enjoying this series so far. Have you read either of the first two?
It does sound “fiendishly” good 🙂 happy reading Lisa
Thanks!
I’m looking forward to this one too! And I love the cover. 🙂
Doesn’t it look great? I thought the 2nd book was even better than the first, and I just really love Cormoran as a character!
I love his character too, and the dynamic with Robyn. I’m in the middle of The Silkworm right now, really enjoying it!
It looks interesting. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for sharing. I can’t believe how J. K. Rowling got outted for being Galbraith.
Here’s my WOW

Well, once her secret was out, the book sales really took off, so I guess it worked out for her! 🙂
I am currently listening to The Silkworm and I’m so excited about the new book coming. Can’t wait!!
Yay! I got so caught up in the Silkworm. How’s the audiobook?
I wasn’t the hugest fan of the first one, but I still feel the need to read them for obvious reasons. I think maybe I switch my “Harry Potter author” expectations off I’ll be able to appreciate them more. 🙂
I guess it’s a good thing that I read The Casual Vacancy first, which broke me of my Harry Potter mindset. 🙂 I really didn’t like TCV, so these mysteries felt like a huge improvement!
I love suspense novels. I have been trying to read other genres. After reading this post, I remember why I like suspense so much.
Cool! I don’t usually read many mysteries, but since these are written by J. K. Rowling, I had to give them a chance, and ended up really enjoying them. 🙂
This one sounds pretty good. I love suspenseful reads. Have a great week! 🙂

Thanks! I hope you’re having a great reading week too!
I’m not a huge fan of mysteries, but I might give this series a try sometime. I hope you enjoy it when you get to it! 😀

Thanks! I’m not much of a mystery reader myself, but I couldn’t resist the first one once J. K. Rowling was revealed to be the author, and now I’m hooked!
I really do need to start this series, I’ve had the first book since it was released and then the whole author controversy thing started so I shelved it for a while, oops! Will have to fix that soon!
I really enjoyed the first two books. I don’t usually pick up mysteries, but it was fun to see a completely different setting for JK’s writing, and I like the main character a lot.
