Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books That Will Make You Swoon

fireworks2

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is Top Ten Books That Will Make You Swoon. I’m not a very swoon-y person, but I’ll do my best! Here are books that I find utterly romantic or swoon-worthy — and in most cases, the swoon-worthy couple at the heart of it all.

I decided to stick with love stories about adults this week, so no YA titles are included. (I do, however, have some supernatural beings… and I just never do manage to write a top 10 list that doesn’t include time travelers.)

  1. What a fantastic list! I have two books in your list that I *should* read for my challenges this year – The Time Traveler’s Wife and Memoirs of a Geisha. 😉 I haven’t read many books that are swoon worthy. But I really love The Art of Hearing Heartbeats and Jane Eyre 🙂

    • I do love Jane Eyre as well! I’ll have to check out The Art of Hearing Heartbeats. The “swoon” concept was a little odd for me, but in the end, I had fun working on this. 🙂

  2. Great list! How did I forget The Time Traveller’s Wife in this one? lol. You know, I wasn’t entirely sure about the actor they cast as Jamie at first but it must have just been the photo they chose to go with the news article because, yeah, I see it now with that photo =P

    My TTT

    • He has totally grown on me as Jamie! I wasn’t sure at first either, but the more I see of him, the more I think he’s pretty perfect. Especially in some of the interviews and media events he’s done lately — I can absolutely see it! Sigh… can’t wait for the show to premiere!

  3. GREAT LIST! OMG! I have got to read the Outlander books! SO BAD! I read the very beginning when I bought it and *sigh* already swooning within the first couple of pages!
I have never read Memoirs of a Geisha but the movie, Oh MY GOSH! right!!!!! Love this list! I gotta read all these books listed lol xoxo

    • Ha ha, it’s so hard to get over some of these, isn’t it? I love the book of Memoirs of a Geisha even more than the movie — I hope you enjoy it!! Outlander is pretty much my #1 obsession in books (I’m rereading 2 of the books in the series at the same time right now…) It’s so easy to get completely sucked into a good book! 🙂

          • Lol yes we are literature buddies…or is that soul readers? 😉 the Witch of little Italy is one of those fly under the radar books. The story is really sweet and the author has a lot of potential to make it pretty big

  4. Mariana was SO lovely. And Outlander too OF COURSE. Memoirs is one of my all-time favorites too… fantastic list! 🙂
