Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is Top Ten Books That Will Make You Swoon. I’m not a very swoon-y person, but I’ll do my best! Here are books that I find utterly romantic or swoon-worthy — and in most cases, the swoon-worthy couple at the heart of it all.
1) Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
♥ Jamie & Claire ♥

2) The Parasol Protectorate by Gail Carriger
♥ Alexia & Conall ♥
3) Jane True series by Nicole Peeler
♥ Jane & *insert name of either of two love interests here* ♥
4) Mariana by Susanna Kearsley
♥ too complicated to name names… ♥
5) The River of No Return by Bee Ridgway
♥ Nick & Julia ♥
6) Eagle in the Sky by Wilbur Smith
♥ Debra & David ♥
7) Fables by Bill Willingham
♥ Snow White & Bigby Wolf ♥
8) Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
♥ Scarlett & Rhett ♥
9) Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
♥ Sayuri & the Chairman ♥
10) The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
♥ Henry & Clare ♥
I decided to stick with love stories about adults this week, so no YA titles are included. (I do, however, have some supernatural beings… and I just never do manage to write a top 10 list that doesn’t include time travelers.)

The Time Traveler’s Wife is a great choice! I completely forgot to add that book. Fantastic list! 🙂
I feel like I end up TTW on at least 50% of my top 10 lists! Some books just stick with you, you know? 🙂 Thanks!
What a fantastic list! I have two books in your list that I *should* read for my challenges this year – The Time Traveler’s Wife and Memoirs of a Geisha. 😉 I haven’t read many books that are swoon worthy. But I really love The Art of Hearing Heartbeats and Jane Eyre 🙂
I do love Jane Eyre as well! I’ll have to check out The Art of Hearing Heartbeats. The “swoon” concept was a little odd for me, but in the end, I had fun working on this. 🙂
ooooh, The River of No Return has been on my wishlist for ages. Now I want it even more. I had now idea it would be a swoon worthy book 😀
Conall and Alexia! ❤ They make a great couple!
I really, really loved The River of No Return! It’s coming out in paper in the next month or so, I think. Amazing book –I hope you get to read it! So glad to meet another fan of Conall and Alexia. I adore Conall (Alexia too, but you know…) and the whole series!
Have you read her YA series? Because Soap from that series is a really adorable character too!
Great list! How did I forget The Time Traveller’s Wife in this one? lol. You know, I wasn’t entirely sure about the actor they cast as Jamie at first but it must have just been the photo they chose to go with the news article because, yeah, I see it now with that photo =P
My TTT
He has totally grown on me as Jamie! I wasn’t sure at first either, but the more I see of him, the more I think he’s pretty perfect. Especially in some of the interviews and media events he’s done lately — I can absolutely see it! Sigh… can’t wait for the show to premiere!
Oh boy, I haven’t read any of these, but Outlander is definitely on my TBR! I hope to get my hands on it very soon. 🙂
Happy reading!
Ooh, I hope you do give Outlander a try! You may regret it though — people tend to get obsessed! 🙂
GREAT LIST! OMG! I have got to read the Outlander books! SO BAD! I read the very beginning when I bought it and *sigh* already swooning within the first couple of pages!
I have never read Memoirs of a Geisha but the movie, Oh MY GOSH! right!!!!! Love this list! I gotta read all these books listed lol xoxo
Ha ha, it’s so hard to get over some of these, isn’t it? I love the book of Memoirs of a Geisha even more than the movie — I hope you enjoy it!! Outlander is pretty much my #1 obsession in books (I’m rereading 2 of the books in the series at the same time right now…) It’s so easy to get completely sucked into a good book! 🙂
Great list, I didn’t even think of river of no return and completely failed to put outlander on my list!
I feel like The River of No Return is one of those books that I’m constantly pushing on people! Just loved it so much. Thanks for stopping by!
Yes I feel the same way! I also feel like I am pushing the Witch of little Italy and letters from sky on people a lot.
I loved Letters From Skye. Will have to check out the Witch of Little Italy! (I think our taste in books overlaps quite a bit…)
Lol yes we are literature buddies…or is that soul readers? 😉 the Witch of little Italy is one of those fly under the radar books. The story is really sweet and the author has a lot of potential to make it pretty big
Great list!
Thanks!
Great list! I completely adore the Parasol Protectorate series by Gail Carriger!
My Top Ten
Me too! So many amazing characters, and I love that there was real emotion and drama mixed in with all the super funny bits. Thanks for stopping by!
I love the Time Traveler’s Wife! Great list, I haven’t read many of these so I will have to check them out!
Missie @ A Flurry of Ponderings
Thanks, Missie! The Time Traveler’s Wife is really one of my all-time favorites — I’ve read it 3 or 4 times by now!
Mariana was SO lovely. And Outlander too OF COURSE. Memoirs is one of my all-time favorites too… fantastic list! 🙂
Thanks! The Outlander books never let me down…
