See the host’s site for how to join the Salon.

Monthly memes:

6 Degrees of Separation
Hosted by: Books Are My Favourite and Best
Description: On the first Saturday of every month, a book is chosen as a starting point and linked to six other books to form a chain. Readers and bloggers are invited to join in by creating their own ‘chain’ leading from the selected book. Books can be linked in obvious ways – for example, books by the same authors, from the same era or genre, or books with similar themes or settings. Or, you may choose to link them in more personal or esoteric ways: books you read on the same holiday, books given to you by a particular friend, books that remind you of a particular time in your life, or books you read for an online challenge. A book doesn’t need to be connected to all the other books on the list, only to the ones next to them in the chain.

Monthly Wrap-Up
Hosted by: Feed Your Fiction Addiction
Description: Every month, at the end of the month, I’ll put up a monthly wrap-up link-up post where everyone can link up their month end posts. There are no specific requirements for what needs to be in your post, as long as you have a book blog and your wrap-up summarizes your month in some way. Then, one week later, I’ll create a giveaway that encourages people to visit YOUR month end wrap-ups, giving entries for commenting and/or sharing.

Best of the Bunch
Hosted by: A Cocoon of Books
Description: Best of the Bunch is a monthly linkup where we can share the best books we read each month and award one of them “Best of the Bunch.” At the end of each month, take a look what you read that month and share your favorites. Then tell us which one is the Best of the Bunch — the one everyone should add to their to-read lists right now. You can use any criteria you want to determine which book to award Best of the Bunch. Then come back here and link up! The linkup will post at midnight Eastern Time on the last day of each month.

Spell the Month in Books
Hosted by: Reviews From the Stacks
Description: On the first Saturday of each month I open up a thread welcoming participants to leave a comment with a link to their post, but you can join at any point during the month. Find book titles that start with each letter in the month’s name, make a list, share your list, and that’s it! At the end of each linkup post I share optional challenge themes for the next three months and a button that you can embed in your post if you want an easy way to point others here.

Birthstone Book Covers
Hosted by: Books Are The New Black
Description: Pick 5+ book covers that match the current month’s Birthstone. For an added challenge, you can pick books from your own shelves (but you don’t have to). Be sure to link back to the host, and tag more people if you want!

Read the North
Hosted by: The Inkbound Reader
Read the North is a monthly series that takes place on the second Monday of each month. Each time participants will feature a new book by a Canadian author to recommend. The link that is added will take you to all the past Read the North posts!

Occasional / Whichever day you feel like:

Down the TBR Hole
Hosted by: Jody’s Bookish Haven
Description:
This meme will revolve around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’ll never read and sorting through it all to know what’s on there. This is a laid-back meme, so post every week or month, whatever works for you. I will be posting whenever I want to take some older books off my TBR shelf. So if and when you post Down The TBR Hole, you’re welcome to grab the Linky code and add it to your post. Enjoy!

Annual memes:

20 Books of Summer (or 20 Books of Winter, for those in the Southern Hemisphere!)
Hosted by: AnnaBookBel
Description:
The #20BooksofSummer2025 challenge runs from Sunday June 1st to Sunday August 31st. The first rule of 20 Books is that there are no real rules, other than signing up for 10, 15 or 20 books and trying to read from your TBR. Pick your list in advance, or nominate a bookcase to read from, or pick at whim from your TBR. If you do pick a list, you can change it at any time – swap books in/out. Don’t get panicked at not reaching your target. Just enjoy a summer of great reading and make a bit of space on your shelves!

    • Great! I’m mostly away from my blog this week, but I’ll probably do some updates to this page next week and will add your meme. Good luck with it! Looking forward to checking it out.

    • Hey, Kathleen! I was having a hard time finding your meme. I’d love to add it — so can you please send me the link, etc via my Contact page? Thanks so much!

    • Thanks for sharing your link! I’ve been away for a couple of weeks, but once I’m caught up, I’ll be updating the directory and will be sure to add your meme.

    • Thanks, I’ll check it out! If you have a minute, can you please send me the info via my Contact page? It really helps me stay organized. Thanks so much!

    • nivthebooklovingnerd.wordpress.com is no longer available.

The authors have deleted this site.

@thebooklovingnerd if the site has been moved please update. Was looking for the Trending on Tuesday.

      • Hi, sorry due to some technical problems, I had to stop the Trending on Tuesday feature, and move my site. I’ll start an entirely new edition in June. Sorry for the inconvenience. My new site is weirdandwonderfulbooks.wordpress.com 🙂
        Good day!

  1. do you remember who used to do the random reads meme – IMLovingbooks (I think) – I saw the blog no longer exists and would love to pick up the meme, but want to talk to the previous owner

    • Thanks! I’ll be doing an update later this week, and would be happy to add your meme. 🙂 Could you please send me your info via my Contact page? It’s the easiest way for me to keep and organize the information for the directory. Thanks!

  2. Hi! I’m just starting out my book blog, and so I’m still learning the ropes. Are book memes for everyone to post, or only for the creator of the meme?

    • Book blog memes are typically for anyone who wants to participate. Rules vary a bit from blog to blog, but the concept is usually that the meme creator is the host and provides some way for other bloggers to share links to their own posts as well, so people can check out what others are doing.

  3. I’ve been checking for some fun memes that I could do to my blog and there’s a lot than I expected! Thanks for listing them up! 🙂

  4. Hello. Thank you for this helpful directory. It will help a lot of people when it comes to making blog posts when they have no idea what to write next. Have a nice day! 🙂

  5. Hi, I’m currently hosting a new blog meme called “Exquisite Wordiness”. Every week, on Monday, I post a new word that I find intriguing and exquisite. However, there is a theme every month and all the words chosen for that month most connect with the theme. Check out my most recent post on my blog for more information: https://downthereadinghole.blogspot.pt/2016/09/exquisite-wordiness-ellipsism.html

Can you please add this meme on your list? Thanks a lot!

  6. I came across this list while searching for weekly memes, such a useful post! Thank you for making it.
I just started a weekly meme called Searching Saturday. I’m not sure yet if people will join. It would be amazing if you could include it in your list! Maybe that will bring it to people’s attention. I would really appreciate it ❤︎

  7. Thank you for this great list. I’m starting a new blog and was searching for some interesting memes and this list is perfect. Is it ok to “re-host” any of the memes enlisted here or should I ask for permission first (then, from who) ? I know it’s a stupid question but I’m a beginner and know near to nothing about this blogging world 🙂 Thank you!

    • Thanks! Good luck with your new blog! As far as I know, “re-hosting” is probably not considered okay (if you mean, setting it up on your blog with yourself as the host). But, participating with a link back to the host is fine!

  8. This post is awesome! Like so many previous commenters, I’m just getting started and this will be a great way to dial into the community. Also- skimming the comments section to see how meme’s come and go was super interesting. Thanks for the post and keeping it up 🙂

  9. Hi! I found this directory through a random search and it’s been invaluable. Thank you so much for compiling this! 🙂
I also started a new book meme, but I’m unsure of whether I should send you the details. This is because my blog is still an infant and the only participant is… well, me.

  10. LOVE this idea! Really thankful that you’ve taken the time to compile it all! I found so many memes I could participate in, all thanks to you 😅

    • My pleasure! I was thrilled to discover Shabby Sunday through another blogger’s post! If you ever have any changes to the listing, just let me know and I’ll be glad to update. Thanks!

  11. Hi! I started a new blog with some original memes I was happy to learn about your directory thru my friend Lexxie at Unconventional Bookviews. I’ve been doing Thrifty Thursday for more than 4 years, and even at the 2 blogs I reviewed for before creating my own. It is reviewing Kindle freebies. Here is a link and it has its own graphic: https://booksofmyheart.net/category/reviews/tt/ Another meme I do is Friends on Friday where I have blogger friends post reviews: This is something new I just started and also has its own graphic. https://booksofmyheart.net/category/reviews/ff/ The third one is Series on Saturday: I think it is really fun. I try to start a discussion on series within a genre. https://booksofmyheart.net/category/ss/ The one of these most easy for others to do is Thrifty Thursday. I’ve thought about doing a challenge month for people to contribute for now I’m just inviting them to put review links in the comments and I’ll include them the next post also. Anne

  12. Hello, I love this list of memes! I have just started one up hosted on my own blog today and I was wondering if you would add it to your list if that is okay please? It’s called Monday’s Memo, and it’s a space to write anything you want about the week ahead. Here is the link to the page: https://racheleanne.wordpress.com/weekly-memes/mondays-memo/. I am also starting one on Wednesday but I haven’t launched that one yet. Thanks! 🙂

    • Sounds great! I’m traveling this week, so it’ll probably be this weekend before I have a chance to do any updates. Thanks for providing your info!

  13. Thank you ☺️ (sorry if this send a few times, my wordpress app keeps crashing and I wasn’t sure if it sent)

    • I’m sure you’re right! Going through and doing some updating and pruning is on my to-do list for this summer — thanks for the reminder! 🙂
