I starting participating in Birthstone Books Covers in August 2025, and I’ve stuck with it ever since. I’m now in my 2nd time through, so the challenge is to find new books to spotlight! Leslie at Books Are the New Black hosts this fun monthly meme — why not give it a try?
The rules are simple:
Mention the creator (Leslie @ Books Are The New Black ) and link back so she can see your post! Pick 5+ book covers that match the current month’s Birthstone. HAVE FUN!
September’s birthstone is sapphire. According to the American Gem Society, sapphire gemstones symbolize loyalty, nobility, sincerity, and integrity. Learn more about their history.
Sapphire is my birthstone (yay, September!), and I’ve always loved the rich color (and love checking out sapphire jewelry of all sorts). But more importantly…
Onward to the books! What a dilemma I’m facing — I featured a bunch of absolute favorites last September, and I promised myself I wouldn’t do repeats this time around!
So, here are more sapphire book covers I’ve found on my shelves… and if you’re curious, here are the sapphire books I featured in September 2025!
- The Glory by Herman Wouk
- A Deadly Inheritance by Kelley Armstrong
- Meat Cute by Gail Carriger
- The Christmas Book Hunt by Jenny Colgan
- Bellewether by Susanna Kearsley
- The Calculating Stars by Mary Robinette Kowal
- Night Road by Kristin Hannah
Do you have any favorite sapphire book covers to share?
The Sapphire is my birth stone as well. It is one of my favorite shade of blue. I read one of the books that you picked. I read it last winter.
Happy birthday!!
Since blue is my favorite color, I’m drawn to all of these books. I’m pretty sure I read Night Road years ago!
I still haven’t read Night Road! I picked up the paperback years ago, and still sitting o my shelf… someday I’ll get to it!
These are great picks for sapphire – the Susanna Kearsley cover is a pretty one 🙂
Thanks! Susanna Kearsley’s book covers are always so gorgeous!
Great job picking new books, that can be hard. And happy birthday month!
Thank you!
Happy Birthday for whenever it is this month 🥰 All these covers look stunning together. I dont think I’ve heard of that Kelley Armstrong book before and will have to look up Bellewether as the covers so eye catching.
Thank you! I really enjoyed the Kelley Armstrong book, and love everything by Susanna Kearsley!
Happy birthday month! Blue is my favorite color, so I love these covers.
Thank you!
Happy Birthday month!!! I hope it was fabulous. I love your choices and Bellewether is a stunning cover. I haven’t seen that one before!
Thank you — it’s been wonderful! Bellewether was a terrific book — but so is everything by that author!
I think Bellewether is my favourite cover for this. I have a copy of this but haven’t read it – need to try harder!
Lynn 😀
I remember really liking Bellewether… although I’ve yet to have a bad experience with a Susanna Kearsley book, so no surprise there!
