July’s birthstone is ruby… what a gorgeous shade!
According to gia.edu:
Ruby is the July birthstone – and it’s one of the most coveted of gems. The name is derived from the Latin word ruber, meaning “red” – the color of love and passion. Few things catch the eye like the ruby birthstone. The finest color of the birthstone for July is a deep red with a hint of purple, called “pigeon’s blood” in the trade. A variety of the mineral corundum, ruby gets its color from trace amounts of the element chromium. The more chromium, the stronger the red.

I keep hearing how much people loved it! I actually didn’t… I liked some aspects, but it didn’t work all that well for me. Still, I love the cover!

Really enjoyed this roundup! I hadn’t thought about how well different book cover palettes can capture the personality of each birthstone. The July ruby picks especially stand out, they have that rich, vibrant feel that matches the stone perfectly.

Same here! I remember really enjoying it, even though the plot details are hazy by now.
I have Sisters Red on my shelves somewhere I think 🤔 I definitely used to but I may have unhauled it when I gave my mum a mountains worth for the charity stall at her work. I definitely need to read something by Angie Thomas and Josh Wiswell sometime too. These all look lovely together.
