Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic, just in time for Valentine’s Day, is a love freebie — so we all can come up with our own spin on a love-related post. Well…
I was wracking my brain for an idea, and happened to stumble upon my TTT list from February 2016… and realized that I still like it! Without further ado, here’s what I wrote during Valentines week, two years ago:
I’m keeping it simple, and going with a list of love stories that have really stayed with me:
Love Across Time
Jamie and Claire, Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Henry and Clare, The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
Richard and Elise, Somewhere in Time by Richard Matheson
Married Love
Rosetta and Jeremiah, I Shall Be Near To You by Erin Lindsay McCabe
Don and Rosie, The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion
Unrequited Love
Severus Snape and Lily Evans, the Harry Potter series
Sidney Carton and Lucie Manette, A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
Love Between Friends
Maddie and Julie, Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein
Supernatural Love
Matthew and Diana, All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness
Mercy and Adam, Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs
Happy Valentine’s Day!

I love quotes and those ones are beautiful ♥
This weeks’ TTT is GREAT!
Thank you!
Don and Rosie…such a fabulous couple! I love them.
Me too… although I didn’t actually love the sequel.
I swear I’m finally going to get to the Outlander series this year! This is the second list I’ve seen Code Name Verity and Mercy Thompson on this week, so clearly I need to cross them off my TBR.
These are all favorites of mine — I hope you enjoy if you give them a try!
This is a fun take on this week’s topic. I love Richard and Elise! Somewhere in Time, the movie, is one of my favorites. Is it based on a book? If so, I need to read it stat. I wanted to name my daughter MacKenna Elyse because My middle name is Elyse and I love the name MacKenna and I got it after Elise Makenna. I know it’s weird, but it’s true, lol.
My TTT Post
Oh yes, the movie Somewhere in Time is based on the book by Richard Matheson. I’ve always loved the movie, and finally read the book just a few years ago. There are some differences, but it’s definitely worth reading. How cool about the names!
I love Maddie and Julie’s friendship!

Oh, me too. I’ve read Code Name Verity a few times now, and it gets me every time.
I don’t think I could read it again knowing the pain that’s coming!
‘Always’ always gets me!!
Beautiful quotes, I enjoyed reading your post, even though I haven’t read most of the books 🙂
Thanks so much!
All of these are so lovely but holy crap that Outlander quote still manages to put my heart in a vice. ❤
Oh, I know. Jamie is one of those fictional dream men that no one in real life has even a chance of measuring up to.
