Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, featuring a different top 10 theme each week. This week’s topic is Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases For The Second Half of 2016.
Organized by release month, here are the books I can’t wait to read between now and the end of 2016… emphasis on the now. I want them all NOW.
July:
1) Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J. K. Rowling: I have a feeling this will be on ALL the lists this week. I can’t wait to read it… although what I really want is to go see the production live in London! Sigh. I can dream, can’t I?
2) Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty: I loved both of the books that I’ve read by this author, and can’t wait for more.
3) Saga, volume 6 by Brian K. Vaughan: Brilliant series. Gimme, gimme, gimme.
4) Defending Taylor by Miranda Kenneally: I haven’t been reading much YA lately, but this series always makes me happy.
August:
5) To The Bright Edge of the World by Eowyn Ivey: Finally, a new book from the author of The Snow Child!
September:
6) The Wonder by Emma Donoghue: Sounds amazing.
7) Leave Me by Gayle Forman: Can’t wait to check out this author’s first novel for adults!
8) Tales of the Peculiar by Ransom Riggs: A collection of stories to go with the Miss Peregrine series? Yes, please.
October:
9) Yesternight by Cat Winters: This might be the book I’m most excited about. I’ve loved every single book by this author!
10) Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult: You can always count on Jodi Picoult to make you think and to make you cry — two ingredients for a super read!

Truly Madly guilty is definitely on my list too- i loved Big Little Lies. and To The Bright Edge of the World has such a nice cover!
Big Little Lies was awesome! I think Liane Moriarty is so talented.
Great list, Lisa! I haven’t read any Emma Donoghue yet, but The Wonder sounds brilliant. 🙂
I love the synopsis for that one! I’ve read Room (amazing, of course), and still have an unread copy of her most recent novel (Frog Music) — so I should probably read that one before picking up a new release. 🙂
I totally forgot about Small Great Things to add to my list! How could I forget Picoult?!
Her books are always so good! I loved The Storyteller – can’t wait for the new one!
The Storyteller and Leaving a Time we’re both amazing!! She’s always written amazing books but they been particularly amazing lately!
I have yet to read a Liane Moriarty book, although I did just pick up The Husband’s Secret so maybe I’ll get around to that soon. 🙂
Oh man, Saga. YES. My library is making me nervous because they haven’t bought it yet. lol Eowyn’s new one made my list too. Snow Child was the best. Very excited for Yesternight. Fantastic list!
The Husband’s Secret is great! I hope you give it a try. Saga… wow. Just love it so much!
I think i could give one of my limbs to get my hands on the new Harry Potter book 🙂
Ha, me too! I can’t wait!
Oooh I didn’t know Emma Donoghue has an upcoming release! I like her writing a lot.
I’ve only read one of her books so far (Room), but the synopses for a few of her other books have really interested me, and I think I need to read them!
I don’t know who designs Ransom Riggs’ books, but they do a fantastic job!
I agree 100%! I wonder if the Tales will have as many cool and creepy illustrations.
Small Great Things was on my list this week too! I should have put Harry Potter on it, but I’m so excited about and so vocal about my love of the series that I figured readers of my blog would already know how excited I am about it!

Ha, you can never shout your love for Harry Potter too much, in my humble opinion! 🙂 Thanks for sharing your link!
Too true! No problem!
ooo I love the cover for Yesternight! So striking! My TTT
Isn’t it pretty? I don’t know too much about the plot of the book, but the cover makes me feel like it’ll be lovely and eerie.
That’s the feeling I get from it too.
I’m really looking forward to Yesternight as well. I just finished her novel The Steep & Thorny Way and thought it was fantastic. Great list!
Thanks! I thought Steep & Thorny was fantastic too.
Oh Tales of the Peculiar made my list too!! That one looks super interesting. I had no idea that Liane Moriarty and Gayle Foreman were coming out with new books. I love both of those authors so I need to get those.
I’m excited for Tales, especially since I just read books 2 & 3 in the series this year!
Ooh! I can’t wait for Saga to come out!
Me too! I love that series so much!
