Synopsis:

This sounds like a lot of fun, doesn’t it?

Freshman year of college is such a major transitional time, and it’s always interesting to me to see how it’s portrayed in fiction. (Recent great examples include Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell and Just One Day by Gayle Forman).

True confession time: My freshman roommate experience was NOT a good one — so maybe it’s time to read about one that starts off on a more positive note!

  6. I have yet to read a Sara Zarr novel but this one does sound like a good one. My freshman roommate experience was surprisingly good though, I was fortunate. Although we didn’t share an actual room together so that probably plays a huge part. Lol

    • I’ve never read anything by Sara Zarr either, but her name sure comes up a lot! Lucky you, having a good freshman roommate experience! Mine was the ultimate spoiled princess, whose charming habits included running up our phone bill and then not paying, and wearing designer jeans that were too small for her (and she was pretty tiny) and asking me to help zip them up. Wow, getting chills thinking about it! 🙂

      • Ugh! That is bad. I do have one bad story about my roommate though. This was in 2004 when the George Bush election was going on and she was a serious Democrat. When he won the election I could hear her sobbing the entire night through the walls. LOL

  8. Whoever the roommate is if you’re sharing a room you’ll fall out at some point, guaranteed. Something tells me some of the drama in this book, towards the end when they actually get to college, will come from that. Cool pick honey. 🙂
